Part 1 | First steps in woodworking 👣 🪵
Starting your woodworking journey can feel intimidating, but we’re here to make it simple — so you start off on solid ground 🛫
If you’re a beginner, here’s one rule you must know:
👉 Cut against the grain → use a drop saw
👉 Cut along the grain → use a table saw
Follow that, and you’ll stay safe while taking your first steps in woodworking.
Curious what happens if you break that rule? 👀 Watch till the end.
Thinking about getting into woodworking? Start smart with the right first projects.
We get it - you’re already dreaming big. Maybe you want to build a dining table or a bed frame. But before you go all in, you need to build up your skills first.
Woodworking isn’t just about cutting and assembling. It’s about understanding your tools, materials, and what’s actually possible. Jumping straight into a complex project will only lead to frustration (and a pile of wasted wood).
Start small. Choose a simple project that teaches you the basics and helps you get comfortable with your tools. You’ll gain confidence, make fewer mistakes, and, most importantly, discover the joy of creating something with your own hands.
Here are a few beginner-friendly ideas to get you started. And if you’d like some guidance along the way, consider joining a woodworking workshop. You’ll learn faster and have a lot more fun doing it.
Four Japanese saws, four ways to master precision. 🪚 Japanese saws cut on the pull which makes all the difference. They are precise, simple and beautifully engineered. Thank you for the gift 🙏 | PR sample
