For those of you based in Germany, you might have caught a familiar face on this year's edition of The Voice of Germany. 👀

Our very own Loulia Esteves, a graduate from MA Popular Music Practice, has been blowing us all away during the competition thus far. From her multi-lingual audition to an incredible duet of Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse', French-born Loulia is proving herself to be one of the greatest voices in Germany right now.

With the next round of the competition coming up next Saturday, we'll be ready to cheer Loulia on all the way. 💘

BIMM University Berlin graduate wows in The Voice of Germany 2024 The Welcome Event and Concert showcased projects from our student community and featured music video director Tim Pope.

This time 1 month ago, we were in the midst of our big welcome celebrations as we kicked off semester 1. Nope, we can't believe it either. 🤯

We are super proud to introduce your new Student President for 2024/25, Johann Kreßin‼️

A born and bred Berliner, Johann is entering his second year on our BA (Hons) Filmmaking programme. Beyond being a complete and utter cinephile, Johann is mad about sports, having been part of the team that secured victory (again💁 ) at this year's BIMM World Cup.

Johann is all about being there to make the world a better place and to support anyone struggling to find their place in Berlin:

"I want to find ways to make improvements where improvement is wanted, help to make communication as efficient as possible, and fine tune what I can to make people feel safe and heard."

We're so excited to have Johann as this year's Student Pres and can't wait to see the incredible initiatives he'll work on during his time. Congrats, Johann! 💜

We are thrilled to announce that renowned British actor, Mark Williams, is the official ambassador for the Future Talent Scholarship, available to film and acting students applying for September 2024 entry in Berlin. 💁‍♀️

Mark Williams is a British character actor best known for his roles as Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter film series and the titular character in the long-running BBC series Father Brown. He first gained widespread recognition as a key performer in the popular BBC sketch comedy, The Fast Show. Mark’s extensive career includes notable roles in film and television projects such as 101 Dalmatians, Doctor Who, StardustandThe Borrowers, among many others.

Lil throwback to our Producers residency at the incredible TRICONE STUDIOS. 🐣

Back in April, fifteen students from our Performance and Production courses came together for three days of collaboration. Exploring the areas of sampling, synthesis and acoustic recording, the groups created 12 different pieces of music - with no restrictions on style.

The outputs from this residency truly blew our minds. 🤯

The End of the World is here and we're bringing you the behind the scenes. 🎈

The latest video from Kings and Pills and saw them teaming up with Miklós Molnár and Ebba Olofsson (Year 2, Filmmaking) to explore their vision of the apocalypse.

Funded by a highly successful kickstarter campaign, this is indie creativity at its finest. A huge congrats to the cast and crew for the End of the World. 💐

In case you missed the absolute scenes on our story last week: Yes, we won the BIMM World Cup, AGAIN! 🤑

With a tall order to see us retain the trophy, our incredible team from all over the globe took on 18 different teams from across BIMM University and MetFilm School.

Over a gruelling series of 5-a-side matches, this team showed that they're more than gifted creatives - they've also got the might to dominate on the football pitch.

Bring on next year - will anyone be able to rise the challenge of BIMM Berlin's football team?

The biggest of shoutouts to BIMM Berlin Football Society Pres, Efro, for these digi cam snaps. 💚

We didn't think it was possible to surpass our last gig at Lido. Truly. 🤯

Once again, the bar was raised to a whole new level with 20 acts, more genres than we could count and (at least) 3 mosh pits.

We love us some big screen magic. And that's exactly what we got from our Filmmakers at the Film and Acting showcase.

Following on from some incredible acting performances, eleven unique projects were screened to a packed audience. Ranging from music videos for BIMM Music artists to documentaries and short films, it was an incredible display of how our filmmakers have developed over the past 8 months.

A huge congratulations to all of our students involved in the making of the projects showcased. 👏
