İpek Seyalıoğlu currently participates in the Studio Program Art Residency at BERLIN ART INSTITUTE during Blocks 04 & 05, from March 30 to May 22, 2026.

Following our call for applications among Berlin-based alumni of the Martin Roth-Initiative in the field of art and culture, İpek was selected for the residency.

İpek is a Berlin-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice moves between theater, performance, film, poetry, playwriting, live writing, drawing, and acting. Her work explores the intersection of language, body, image, and performance through what she describes as a Theater of Poetry — a performative approach that brings together live writing, drawing, and acting on stage.

Her BAI Program participation is supported by BAI Studios GmbH in order to promote our non-profit organization BAI Social gUG and attract partners for sustainable and long-term funding.

Explore how painting can construct compelling space.

Join the workshop EXPLORATIONS IN PAINTING: Constructing Compelling Space with Julie Beugin and investigate how three-dimensional space can be translated onto a two-dimensional canvas.

Across two focused mornings, participants will work with perspective, overlap, scale, light, composition, viewfinders, thumbnail sketches, and model building. The workshop begins with a monochromatic painting of interior space and continues with the construction of an imagined space using coloured paper maquettes as the basis for a painting.

Led by Berlin-based artist Julie Beugin, whose work explores unexpected alignments of light, architecture, and space, this workshop offers practical methods for developing spatial depth, visual interest, and surprise in painting.

Our sincere thanks to Colombia’s Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Traditional Knowledges for supporting two Colombian artists to participate in our Studio Program Art Residency in Berlin.

By co-supporting international residency placements, this partnership creates focused studio time, critical feedback, and immersion in Berlin’s contemporary art ecosystem while strengthening international networks and supporting public-facing outcomes back in Colombia.

✨ Thank you for making our 10-Year Anniversary unforgettable. On September 6, 2025, we opened our doors for BAI Open House with two exhibition openings—“hugging” and the BAI Fellows Exhibition—plus Open Studios. We’re still feeling the warmth, the conversations, and the creative energy you brought into our spaces.

A special shout-out to all our residents, participants, lecturers, mentors, partners, visitors, and friends—your commitment, presence, energy, and support continue to shape our creative community. 💛

“hugging” reflected a decade of international & personal connections; the Fellows Exhibition highlighted new voices and experimental practices; and Open Studios invited everyone behind the scenes. Thank you for celebrating art, dialogue, and community with us. Here’s to the next decade. 🥂
