Join us for 'Uncomfortable Truths: Art, Colonialism and Academic Collections' from 5-16 October, featuring the work of Maliha Abidi, Jen DeNike, Sylee Gore, Sophie Hamacher, Gesa Stedman, Karin Stumpf and Jack Woolley.

Regular hours Monday - Saturday 11-6, Sunday 11-5.

Special events:

- The exhibition opens on 5 October with an introduction by Joanna Vickery-Barkow (HU).
- On October 14 there will be a panel discussion on 'Academic Collections and Colonial Violence' with Gesa Grimme, Edna Bonhomme, and Patricia Vester.
- On October 16, the closing night, there will be drinks alongside ekphastic readings.

All are welcome. Access is up a small flight of steps.

On June 6 from 5pm until midnight, GBZ Masters students present Playground or Battleground? Childhood in Conflict: London, Berlin, and Belfast in HU's Senatssaal as part of this year's Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften. Alongside this interdisciplinary research-based exhibition, there will be activities for children, interactive stations and games, a food table, historical toys provided by Onkel Philipps’ Spielzeugwerkstatt, and a reading corner.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a panel discussion with Juliane Röleke and Dr Tom Koltermann of the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History, Potsdam at 7pm titled ‘Childhood in Divided Berlin and the Troubles.’ An exhibition tour in English will start at 8.30pm, in German at 9pm, and in Turkish at 9.30pm. A film produced by the Centre’s students—comprised primarily of
archival footage and photographs of children during The Blitz, divided Berlin, and the Troubles—will be screened at 10pm. Information on the charitable work, and an opportunity to donate, to War Child Deutschland will also be available.

Join us in Berlin (and online) for the international conference Evolving Relationships – Ireland, the UK and beyond on May 11th and 12th. 🇮🇪🇬🇧🌍

Hosted by Humboldt Universität Berlin’s The Centre for British Studies in partnership with the University of Limerick and Ulster University, this two day interdiciplinary conference brings together leading experts to explore the evolving political, economic, social, literary, artistic, and cultural relationships between Ireland, the UK, and beyond.
