By Heart Projects founder Natalie Magee offered a two part workshop as part of the Young Challengers and Young Pioneers Meeting at the Global Social Business Summit in Berlin.

The workshop was preceded by an inspiring speech from Professor Muhammad Yunus who spoke about the urgency for us to all take action to solve the pressing global issues that face us, especially climate change.

The workshop focused on empowering participants to identify which Sustainable Development Goal was most important to them and then using design thinking to learn how to create solutions for these goals.

Thank you to Mei Lin Fung, cofounder of People Centered Internet, who joined as a guest facilitator and added valuable insight on the ideas created during the workshop.

Highly recommend this article!

"And if saving the rainforest isn't enough to convince carnivores to stop eating Brazilian beef -- the greenhouse gas emissions the cattle create may be.

Beef is responsible for 41% of livestock greenhouse gas emissions, and that livestock accounts for 14.5% of total global emissions. And methane -- the greenhouse gas cattle produce from both ends -- is 25 times more potent that carbon dioxide.

An alarming report released last year by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, said changing our diets could contribute 20% of the effort needed to keep global temperatures from rising 2°C above pre-industrial levels. Namely, eating less meat."

The Amazon fires are no accident. Many of them are being set by ranchers to clear land for cattle -- a traditional practice emboldened by Brazil's pro-business president, who is backed by the country's so-called "beef caucus."
