There are just over five weeks remaining until the application deadline for the BELMA awards. There is still ample time to submit your educational products, whether digital, hybrid or print-based by May 27th.
We welcome submissions for all age groups and across all subject areas. Each entry will be carefully evaluated by our distinguished jury of eight academics and practitioners, who apply the well-established BELMA criteria to ensure a fair and thorough assessment.

The Best European Learners Materials Awards - BELMA 2026 are officially open for registrations!
We are looking for innovative European teaching materials (print or digital) that are to be evaluated for their accessibility, presentation, content quality and learner-centredness.

The drastic changes to textbook policy announced by the Ministry of Education in , in parallel with the introduction of new curricula, represent a serious deterioration in the quality of teaching and learning.
Helga Holtkamp, Executive Director of EEPG, during a press conference of the Chamber of Book Publishers and Booksellers of Slovenia at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, stressed that restricting the range of learning materials and limiting teachers’ choice does not improve quality; rather, it increases teachers’ workload, exacerbates inequalities between schools, and weakens support for pupils with special educational needs.

As the year draws to a close, we would like to thank all partners, members and colleagues who contributed to a successful year for both the EEPG and BELMA. The strength of the lies in the close bond between its members, as well as constructive meetings marked by open exchange, mutual trust and a strong sense of community. For , 2025 was an exceptional year, with a strong level of interest, high-quality submissions and very engaged discussions within the jury and the wider community.
We look forward to continuing our cooperation and work together, and wish everyone a relaxing holiday season.
