♻️Several but interconnected crises that require global and multidisplinary responses.
Europe faces many challenges, but are they really crises? Crisis management, but what does it mean? We take the necessary steps as a community, but are we really capable of it?
These are many questions that crowd our minds and will guide the first day of EPPC 2023, whose main objective is to delineate the boundaries of the topic and to provide an analysis of all its facets.
Europe may be facing its fair share of crises, but it's important to remember that we're stronger together. From the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to economic challenges and political unrest, we must continue to support one another and work towards a brighter future for all. Let's keep our heads up and keep pushing forward, Europe. 💪
The EU faces a range of crises that can have severe consequences for its member states, and the world at large. Effective crisis response and management within the EU is critical to enable the organisation to respond swiftly, coherently, and effectively. Effective crisis management also helps to build trust and confidence among the EU citizens and promotes social cohesion and stability across the EU.
But in order to tackle this, what can we do?
: Being aware of the potential risks and threats in local and state communities is the foremost important task that we, as policymakers, and future administrators should adapt to.
for policies related to crisis mitigation and management: This may include supporting investments in emergency preparedness and response, discussing potential threats and risks and taking firm action on their mitigation, promoting international co-operation and coordination, and advocating for policies which target the root cause of such crisis.
for emergencies: The recent times have unfortunately shown us the importance of being prepared for the worst. This includes self awareness and also the right training in rescue and operations, while also working on emergency shelters, evacuations, etc.
and Coordination: Informed decision-making can be done with the help of quality research. It helps improve the crisis management strategies and improves community resilience. With the help of research and coordination, the resources can be allocated judiciously and efficiently, thus ensuring their maximum utilisation.
Welcome to the Age of Multi-Crisis! 🌍🌡️💸🌪️📱
We're living in a time of interconnected and complex challenges, with multiple crises happening simultaneously. From the COVID-19 pandemic to climate change, economic inequality, political polarization, and technological disruption, these crises pose significant challenges to our society, economy, and government.
It's more important than ever to work together and come up with innovative solutions to address these crises.
As the last two years have shown us, crises can strike at any time and have far-reaching impacts on our society. That's why it's essential for governments to have a robust crisis management plan in place to respond effectively to unexpected events.
Natural disasters, public health crises, terrorist attacks, and economic downturns are just a few examples of the types of crises that can require a well-executed crisis management plan. The ability of public officials to respond quickly and effectively can save lives, minimize damage to infrastructure, and help stabilize the economy.
But crisis management isn't just about responding to the immediate emergency - it's also about learning from the experience to improve policies and procedures for the future. By investing in crisis management, governments can build more resilient communities and better protect their citizens.

Tomorrow‼️
We have an incredible line-up of speakers joining us this year and we cannot wait to see what kind of discussions, messages and conclusions will be at the forefront of this year's Conference! 🧐
Curious about our schedule?
The conference dates are coming up soon, and we can not wait to welcome you to the 2022 EPPC!🤩
We hope you are as excited as we are! Our Conference will have the three following panels:
📌 PANEL #1 The Role of the European Union in a Changing Geopolitical Landscape: This panel intends to provide some insights on the transformation of the geopolitical landscapes and how the EU is adapting to these changes. Some key questions would be about the allies of the EU, its enemies or the states acting aggressively in an explicit or more subdued manner, and the future possible points of tensions in the world.
📌 PANEL #2 Russia/Ukraine/Belarus - Eastern Europe as the Stage for Power Politics: In this panel, speakers will talk about what Russia has been doing in these countries for the past decades, how it defended an authoritarian regime, destabilized "pro-west" democratic regime. What sanctions can be taken against Russian regime?
📌 PANEL #3 EU Common Security and Defense Policy & NATO: Complementarity & Divergence: The aim of this panel is to present the Permanent Structured Cooperation, its complementarity with NATO considering the plan NATO2030, the divergence between the two military cooperation bodies, and the path to a more autonomous European Union in terms of defence.
In a context of rising tensions around the globe🌍 and changing geopolitical landscape, the EU is now obliged to seriously examine its defence strategy. Through several panel discussions, and interactive workshops, we will cover topics such as EU 🇪🇺 positions regarding other states, relations against Russia, NATO and more. The geopolitical analysis will be rooted in the lived experiences of people in order not to forget the impacts that the games of power have on people’s lives. Our goal is to organize a thought-provoking conference that will spark new ways of thinking in our participants💭.
We cannot wait to welcome you to 📍Berlin from April 1st to April 3rd for the EPPC 2022!
