🚀 Announcing RYCAM: Rural Youth Climate Action Movement! 🌿🌳🌍
We are excited to launch the "RYCAM" project, uniting partners from Indonesia and Germany to inspire and equip young people for sustainable agriculture.
In collaboration with the Centre for Rural Development (SLE) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, MPM, and JAMTANI, our network includes the Indonesia Climate Change Alliance (ICCA), Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS), and CCROM SEAP at Bogor Agricultural University. Supported by Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz and funded by the Internationale Klimaschutzinitiative (IKI), this project focuses on promoting nature-based "cool farming" solutions and empowering rural youth, especially young women and Gen Z farmers.
⚡ Our online Risk Analysis Workshop on April 3-4, 2024, brought together all partners to tackle major challenges like climate change impacts on food security, rising food demands, declining interest in farming, and the critical role of education. This set the stage for brainstorming mitigation strategies. ⚡
The project officially kicked off from April 22-24, 2024, and will run until March 2027. Together, we're cultivating a sustainable, healthier future!
