Our Audi production tour was cancelled because of supply chain issues, so Plan B, a visit to Bürgerspital winery in lower Franconia. We learned how the soil, sun, rain, and wind create microclimates that impact the growth and flavor of the grapes. Queen Elizabeth II served Franconia wine made from the Silvaner grapes at her Coronation in 1953. The oldest bottle of wine in the world is in the Bügerspital cellar, a 1540 Steinwein. After a week in Munich, we have traveled to Nuremberg, a beautiful Bavarian city. Nuremberg has a rich history that is more than N**i history. Travel tip: if you plan to spend more than a week in Germany, consider buying the Deutschland Ticket. It makes local and regional travel convenient. Visited Spaten, part of the multinational ABImBev corp, and learned about the Munich 1516 Purity Laws, domestic and international production requirements, and Bavaria recycling efforts. The Löwenbrau bottle survived the 1937 Hindenburg NJ crash. The visit at the top of the Spaten Tower was a treat! The snow covered Alps are visible from the Spaten Tower!
