Jordan Pickford Apart from one Jermain Defoe, Pickford has been the only other shining light in an otherwise miserable Sunderland team. The 23-year-old averaged 146 saves compared to 36 by Bravo, 87 by Valdes and 188 by Fraser Forster. More pressure and expectations have been put on him considering his homegrown status. A £30M price tag has been put on his head, which may be an obstacle to a potential move elsewhere. [ 350 more words ]

A third-place finish in the league, elimination in the semi-final by Arsenal, a quarter final exit in the hands of Monaco despite holding a 5-3 first leg advantage by nemesis Jose Mourinho. All the buzz about Hollywood managers and all the excitement in the blue half of Manchester at the beginning of the season fizzled as the season went on. [ 351 more words ]
