Design and interact with Graphical User Interfaces directly in the Max/Jitter Rendering Window!

With the Max 9 [jit.ui] set of objects you can create buttons, sliders, toggles and menus for your GPU accelerated visuals.

Check out the introductory tutorial on YouTube "Amazing Max Stuff" (link in bio 🔮)

Wish you a great start of 2025!

Forgot to mention
you can find the second part of the "Make Stuff Look Good in Max" series on my YT channel (link in bio 🔮)

This one is about how to make shadows look good in Jitter

Have fun!

I made a video about interacting with the Google Cloud API "Speech-to-Text" from Max using Node.js.
It basically means that you can record an audio with Max and let Google transcript it down for you.

New tutorial out!

In this one we see how to render wind-swept grass in Max/MSP using a GLSL shader, especially the Geometry program.

This tutorial is largely inspired by an awesome video from SimonDev about rendering Grass in games (link on YT video description).

The tutorial is as always on YouTube Amazing Max Stuff: https://youtu.be/B0DV11x8KsU
Hope you like it!

10th video of the Jitter Beginners Course out

In this video we see how to use the [ jit.gl.multiple ] object to create multiple copies of the same 3D shape with different properties.
We then see how to animate those shapes using an audio input and the jit.mo package to get some sweet audio-reactive motion 🐎

For some time, I've been thinking about implementing audio/video games in Max, as I believe it's the perfect platform for this.

Today, I'd like to show you my first experiment: a Memory Game, but with chords! 🎶 You flip a card and hear a chord, then flip other cards and try to find the matching chord on your next flip.

A better iteration of this idea would be to hear all the chords at the beginning and then identify them based on memory. This could be easily implemented... if only I had more time!

The patch is a mix of JS, MSP, and Jitter, but I plan to make a tutorial and tidy it up for that occasion. Oh, and the images are generated with DALL-E from OpenAI—such a useful tool for something like this!

You can get the patch from my Patreon (link in bio 🔮)

9th video of the Jitter Beginners Course out

In this one we see how to use the [jit.anim.node] object in Max/MSP to create hierarchical transformations between 3D geometries.
We then see how to use [jit.anim.drive] to animate geometries in the scene, also using our keyboard, and orient them toward the direction of their motion 🚀

Flying Camera Shooter - March 2024 Patch

To test out the new [gamepad] object, I have created this little playground patch.

You can control the first-person camera and shoot using any console controller (in the video I am using an old PS3 one) 🎮

Grab the patch on my Patreon (Professional Patcher tier 💪), blast them cubies and spheres and relieve some stress!

New video of the Jitter Course out!

In this one we see how we can change Max's rendering settings to draw the scene in 2D instead of the usual 3D.
We also see how we can choose which shapes is on top of which other using the Layers system.
