NEXT WEEK - Upcycling workshop by Cindie Popper
Second edition if our cycle “Tools for autonomy”

Using materials from the trash, this workshop proposes the creation of outfits that can be used artistically and for performances as well as for fashion.
So more work and less store, as a way to promote a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and also a way to promote the handmade and unique, contrary to industrialization and homogeneity. DIY resistance to emancipate a little more from capitalism.
The material chosen will be pantyhose and it is not random, it is a material widely used for artistic expressions such as dance, an artistic expression at the time very elitist and perfectionist. Just as it was also a characteristic element of the punk culture of the 80s, the torn socks as a form of expression to rebel against the system.

When:
Tuesday 10/12 from 5pm to 9pm.
Where:
Interflugs - Universität der Künste Berlin.
Room 34c, Hardenbergstrasse 33, 10623 Berlin.
Language: English

Send us a quick email to register with the commitment to be able to participate: [email protected]

EN:
After a long struggle with the UdK administration we are happy to share with you that we got our budget back! Therefore, we want to open at least one round of Project Funding for this year. Due to deadlines imposed by the administrative department, we are only able to offer this round of project funding on a very short notice.

This year, project funding is simpler and faster: just send us your project description and invoices. If you had a project this year that fits the criteria we’ve outlined and still have expenses to cover, we can support you with that.

We are open to both students and non-students seeking ways to access the University of Arts, with priority given to applicants with experiences of marginalization and oppression.

Submit your application to [email protected] with the subject “PF2024_Project’s name_Applicant(s) name” by Sunday, 28th October.

For further details, please scroll through our slides or follow the link in our bio! 🍃

DE:

Together with Maryna Makarenko we are offering a series of 7 sessions, each 3 hours long, designed to explore various somatic practices for emotional regulation.

Our exploration will include intuitive voice work and gentle somatic practices, approached in a slow and conscious manner. We will dive into various breathing techniques, active meditation, deep listening scores, intuitive yoga practice and playful mindful movement.

We prioritize participants who are marginalized or/ and experience oppression based on (or assumptions about) their gender identity, race, ethnicity, disability, class, religion, sexual orientation or through other forms of discrimination. There is a limited capacity for participation and the waiting list will be offered. The workshop is open to everyone and is free of charge.

To register, please click on the linktree in our bio and fill out the google form. We will contact you a couple of day before the workshop if you got selected via email.

Workshop curator: Maryna Makarenko
Organised together with Interflugs

Happy to have you onboard! 🍵

This statement and demands were written by the AG Intersectional Anti-discrimination.
It is a result of ongoing conversations and discussions with contributions from different students, members of the AG and new student initiatives. It has also incorporated direct feedback from Jewish and Palestinian perspectives.

The AG Intersectional Anti-discrimination was founded in 2020 during the popular uprising for Black Lives Matter and has since then listed 19 demands for intersectional anti-discrimination at the UdK. The aim of the AG is to bring together different student initiatives who deal and works against racism and other forms of discrimination, such as Interflugs, IDA, ASTA, student councils, student parliament members, other autonomous student groups and individual initiatives. This coalition is a way to create a place for exchange between student, to strengthen the joined work for structural change at UdK and beyond, to gather collective support and to educate each other on this journey of confronting institutional oppression.
