Strengthening Renewable Energy Capacity in Nigeria.
RENAC successfully delivered another capacity-building training in Abuja, Nigeria, as part of the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The training brought together energy professionals and public sector stakeholders to strengthen their technical knowledge and practical skills in renewable energy. Through interactive sessions and discussions, participants explored key topics essential to supporting Nigeria's sustainable energy transition.
We sincerely thank all participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions throughout the training.
A special thank you goes to our expert trainer, Stephen Akor, for sharing his valuable expertise and practical experience, and to James Turyagyenda for his excellent support and coordination, which contributed significantly to the successful delivery of the training.
Together, we continue to support the development of local capacities and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient energy sector in Nigeria.

After retiring as Country Director for Water.org in 2017, Uday Shankar wanted to pivot into Climate Change and Renewable Energy.
To build a strong foundation, he started with RENAC’s Green Energy Finance Specialist (GEFS) programme. That experience sparked a passion for learning that led him to complete 40 online courses across various climate disciplines over the following years.
Today, as a Visiting Professor at the PSG Group in Coimbatore, he uses this knowledge to design new course modules and teach the next generation of leaders in ESG and Sustainable Finance.
