Zoran Djindjic Internship Programme of German Business for Western Balkans

Back home and ready to create impact.

After five months of on-site internship experience in Germany, Dreni Nimanaj has returned with sharpened skills, a global perspective, and renewed motivation.

During his internship at Everest Systems, Dreni worked as a Software Engineer within the AiSpecify team, contributing to the development of an AI-powered application generation and specification platform.

From building production-level backend systems in TypeScript to working on core features such as Google Drive integrations, file handling, releases, version tracking, changelogs, and rollback functionality, this experience provided hands-on exposure to a fast-moving, real product environment.

Beyond the technical growth, working on-site in an international, English-speaking team strengthened his collaboration skills, adaptability, and sense of ownership.

We are proud to see this journey come full circle and grateful to Everest Systems and all our partners for continuously enabling young professionals from the Western Balkans to grow, learn, and return home ready to make a difference.

Last week, SAP hosted our scholarship holders at SAP Headquarters in Walldorf for an inspiring SAP Technology Overview Day, bringing together young talents from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

In just one day, participants gained valuable insights into SAP’s technologies, career pathways, and presence in the Western Balkans and Croatia. While seeing SAP solutions in action within a real factory environment and learning about employee representation, digital manufacturing, AI applications, and the importance of strong workplace culture, the experience offered a comprehensive look into how innovation, people, and responsibility come together in practice.

We sincerely thank SAP for their openness, commitment, and continued support in empowering young professionals and investing in the future of the region.

Back home and ready to create impact!

After completing a three-month internship in Germany through the Internship Programme of German Business, Vesa Tmava, Generation 2025, has returned home inspired, transformed, and ready for new professional challenges.

During her internship at GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research as part of the GET_INvolved with FAIR initiative, Vesa worked on a project that beautifully combined the two fields she has studied - a project she had always dreamed of. Her work challenged her, strengthened her, and helped her better understand her own capabilities, both professionally and personally.

Throughout these months, she gained hands-on experience in advanced scientific research, learned to navigate complex tasks with confidence, and grew through moments of quiet perseverance that revealed how strong she truly is. Working in an international scientific community allowed her to collaborate with brilliant researchers, learn from global perspectives, and be immersed in a culture of discovery and curiosity.

As part of the network, Vesa will continue to embody our mission of connecting expertise across borders and contributing to the region’s development through innovation, professionalism, and collaboration.
