Inspiring days with amazing people at the meeting of SIRIUS4all in Copenhagen. CKI Kunst Og Interkultur. SABAA.education

An amazing first day of the SIRIUS4all European partner-session and open seminar day is over and we have had so many perspectives and reflections on Europe, identity, decolonisation, representation, social justice and what we might want for a new narrative for Europe! So happy to host our brilliant colleagues from @sabaa.education @a25culture, @luoghi.comuni and @mapadasideias and to be able to present works by @jupiterchildart and @wanjiku_victoria_seest / @gathoniwawairura! And in the final panel session @theycallhermary, @garbadiallo, @Jessica Petersen and @jennifer_tonndorff gave us their perspectives on the topic. Brilliant and in many ways mind opening! Thanks 🙏🏼 to you all it became such a great day! #sirius4all #unionkbh

“As a partnership and as individuals, we know firsthand what it is to want to belong, and also to long for what you left behind. We want to tell stories that encompass all our lived experiences and dreams; stories about us and by us.” Gathoni // Wanjiku is a Kenyan-Danish writer/performance duo, whose work centres on the questions of migration, belonging and identity. For the SIRIUS4all seminar on the 2nd of September, they are creating an original performance piece to be shown at Aula, @unionkbh. The performance is inspired by Sankofa, the bird - A Ghanaian symbol, combining the words San (Return), Ko (Go), and Fa (Fetch, Seek or Take) - meaning ‘To Go Back and Get It’. “For us to create a new narrative of Europe, we believe it is important to look back and return, seek and fetch, we reflect on the past, as we create a more compassionate future.” Learn more about the seminar by following the link in our bio.
