Last week on Friday Professor Osvaldo Romero Romero and Professor Katia Caraballoso Granados, former UNISS professors and DAAD alumni, receive a delegation of UNISS students at the SRH Berlin University of Applied Science. Their experiences of cooperation with the support of the DAAD and their current academic and scientific projections as professors at the SRH Berlin University of Applied Science are exchanged. The characteristics of the SRH Berlin University of Applied Science were also exposed, Cuban students showed great interest in the master's degree programs in engineering that are offered and especially the one focused on renewable energy, water and waste management.

Yesterday we visited Heide Energie Project GmbH in Wallhausen where a demonstration facility for Next2Sun's vertical agrivoltaic technology is in operation. We also started with a master's thesis of one of our student to propose and evaluate a possible agrivoltaic technological package in rice production.

Last week our teachers Saiful Islam(Research associate), Matthias Raab(Lecturer) and students had an opportunity to attend the Ausgburg Off-grid Expo.conference, Probably the last conference of the year 2022. Experts from Intelligent Inverter, Voltage source converter, Solar cooling and the monitoring concept of the Micro/Mini Grid wee present there. Conferences and Expos are always a very good opportunity to keep up with the fast growing technology and we at SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences always look forward to do so.

Knowledge increases by sharing, keeping same in mind SRH university always tries to find more ways of student exchange, staff exchange, knowledge exchange and cultural exchange for students to get more exposure to the world, this time the Berlin school of technology and the Amal Jyothi College of Engineering in Kerala, India have signed a MOU for international cooperation. Our professors Prof.Romero, Prof. Creutzburg and Mr.Mani Suprayan are now in Kerala representing our university and Prof. Hartmann at the Amal Jyothi college Of Engineering. Today they had a round table meeting to find out ways for implementing student and staff exchange, bilateral internship opportunities, join projects and join publications as part of this MOU. Soon we will announce and elaborate this exciting project.We also thank Amal Jyothi college of engineering for being part of this project and for warm welcome in India.

“Be open to learn from new experiences”

M.Sc. Mohammad Mohammadian Is one of our Specialist Lecturer to both management as well as engineering department of SRH Berlin university of applied sciences. Mr. Mohammadian has completed his Bachelors in Aerostatics and astronautics in Technical University (TU) Berlin. He has then completed his Masters from MIT United States where he was successful to ‘mathematically formulate the disturbance on wind turbine by the presence of a tower ‘, he has also done his bachelors in Philosophy from FU(Freie Universität Berlin). He worked in Airforce industry at the beginning of his career and then started teaching in different universities by the year 1990, he has taught almost in all the universities in Berlin. According to Mr. Mohammadian what makes SRH different is the culture, diversity and the course design which according to him is a great mixture of Engineering and management.

GSAN-iWIT2022 at SRH Berlin University



Here is a small insight from our GSAN-iWIT2022. The international Wind Industry Training 2022 took place from 23 to 30th September 2022 at SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences. The intensive business training course was conducted in on and offline (hybrid) mode. The highly professional lessons discussed wind energy systems in detail, looking into layout, simulation, planning and monitoring, quality, marketing, economics, market, and much more).



13 trainees from 10 different countries were joining to explore the field. Several hands-on sessions (mechanical and electrical), presentations from the industry and eventually a visit to the Hamburg WindEnergy tradeshow provided extensive insights and possible bussines matchmaking and good prospects for small to large scale project implementation, on- and off-shore.



Here what participants got from the course:



- exposure to a great bunch of like-minded people

- access to state-of-the-art technology know-how and business skill-sets

- answers to questions and exchange of business ideas/opportunities

- connection with interesting players from the industry that can support with hardware and project consultancy

- access to a dynamic and greatly growing network – the German Solar Academy Network (GSAN)



These kind of short course opportunities you, as a student or extern, get in our university also in the field of f.e. Solar Energy (next SRH Solar Winter School: March 6 to 19, 2023) to polish your ideas or get a bigger picture of how the industry works and acts. We would like to thank professor Matthias Raab and our other faculties for organizing and successfully completing GSAN-iWIT2022.
