CRISP facilitates seminars and trainings dealing with conflict management and political participation

The goals of CRISP-seminars in the field of conflict-transformation

Against the background of the actual situation in post-conflict-countries our seminars main goal is to achieve rapprochement of either party and to dispel the existing barriers of interaction. For this purpose much is needed: developing a shared vision for living together peacefully as well as decreasing the existing prejudices and slowly increasing mutual trust. Insofar as simulation-games create a communication platform alike our seminars can provide an integral component for the democratic process in the region, as it allows experiencing the position of the other guaranteed by the simulation method. Mutually understanding the actual and perceived constraints of action eventually provides the necessary prerequisite to appreciate the other position. Moreover, the seminars deliver general insights into the logics of action of state actors. And if civil society and its active members are to play a central role in creating a peaceful alliance such essential insights are indispensable.

We are wrapping up the SAFE Project and we would love to celebrate with you! 🎉

Together with our partners, we have developed a trauma-informed toolkit for facilitators, educators, and youth workers supporting people and communities affected by war, displacement, migration, and social polarisation.

Our final dissemination event will not be a day of long presentations. Instead, we are creating a lively and welcoming space where you can experience the methods for yourself through storytelling activities, and playful exchanges.

Come along to explore the toolkit, meet others working in the field, exchange ideas, enjoy some finger food, and celebrate the end of an inspiring collaborative journey. Attendance will grant you a 10 euro book voucher, sign up in the link in the bio to secure a spot!

Energy policy has been one of the defining factors of the world security, so we were not all surprised when DENA (German Energy Agency) approached us to develop a simulation game for their strategy day highlighting German energy policy.

After weeks of digging into the measures that can serve independence and competitiveness of Germany and the EU, not forgetting about SDGs and climate goals, the product is ready to serve the good cause. We are extremely grateful to DENA for the trust and our colleagues for listening to so many energy podcasts to get as many perspectives for the strategy day as possible.

At the Kosmos Festival in Chemnitz, CRISP brought the German-Ukrainian Dialogue Project to life through powerful street dialogues on peace, freedom, and democracy.

Young German-Ukrainian tandems shared personal stories, engaged passers-by, and created space for open, respectful conversations about the realities of war and the importance of dialogue in times of crisis. Together, we built bridges through listening and exchange.

Empowering young minds through hands-on democracy!

During the summer holidays, 12 talented students from the Junior Akademie “Humboldt auf Scharfenberg” stepped into the roles of politicians in CRISP’s coalition-building simulation game KOSI. Over five days, they debated current issues, negotiated coalitions, and experienced democratic decision-making up close. A great example of how interactive learning sparks critical thinking and civic engagement beyond the classroom.

Youth workers and partners from across Europe came together in Prague for the second SAFE Project consortium meeting.

Hosted by Caritas Czech Republic, the meeting focused on reflecting on the implementation of the Storytelling Rooms methodology and shaping the next steps toward a digital toolkit for youth workers supporting young people affected by conflict. An important milestone on our shared journey toward accessible, youth-centered tools.

CRISP, in collaboration with RCS, implemented an online training series on simulation game design to strengthen holistic security in Myanmar. Through five interactive sessions, civil society trainers developed practical skills to design and test a fully playable simulation game that builds security awareness, resilience, and community-based responses. The training produced a ready-to-use tool adaptable for future learning on governance and conflict sensitivity.
