Exploring the fear of death, the conscious and unconscious fright of the final void

In my second semester project I’ve worked through the fear of death. The uncertain, the fleeting and the paradox of how we learn to live with it. The design consists out of transitional materials that shift and transform through wear, reflecting the changes we pass through over our lifetime, in body and in mind.

Echoing the body’s instinctive fear reactions, the piece carries weight on it’s shoulders, restricts movement and breathing and manifests a shiver along the back.
