A warm welcome to Adjunct Professor Manouchehr Shamsrizi to our MBA Program at Touro University Berlin.

Gaming is no longer “just entertainment.”
It is one of the biggest drivers of innovation today — from AI and virtual reality to emerging technologies shaping the future of business and leadership.

As a leading gaming specialist and government advisor working closely with the German Foreign Office, Manouchehr Shamsrizi brings a unique perspective on how gaming, technology and innovation increasingly influence leadership, entrepreneurship and even policymaking.

Described by The Washington Post as “among the most publicly prominent voices of Germany’s younger generation” and by Monocle Magazine as “well positioned to assess emerging trends,” he explains in this interview why gaming has become one of the most important gateways to understanding AI, virtual reality and the future of emerging technologies.

And perhaps most importantly: why gamers often develop the strategic thinking, adaptability and problem-solving skills that make strong future leaders.

Welcome to Touro Berlin 🚀

Leaving the military also means leaving behind a system, structure, and a unique sense of camaraderie.
Finding direction during this transition isn’t always easy.
In this interview, Michael Conception explains what truly makes a university veteran-friendly — and why support and understanding matter just as much as education itself.
At Touro Berlin University, this transition becomes a continuation of service — where education is the next step forward.

It has officially begun.
On April 1, a new joint research project launched at Touro Berlin in collaboration with House of the Wannsee Conference. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. The project IANSGE (“Israel-Related Antisemitism as a Didactic Challenge for Memorials and Sites of Remembrance”) explores as a new key question:
How does Israel-related antisemitism affect educational work at memorial sites today?
The project is led on our side by Prof. Dr. Stephan Lehnstaedt and Dr. Dagmar Lieske.
📍 Across Germany, we are working in close cooperation with partners such as Bergen-Belsen Memorial, Buchenwald Memorial, and Anne Frank Zentrum e.V.
🎤 Through interviews with staff members, we examine how the events of October 7, 2023, and the subsequent Gaza War are influencing and shaping their work.
📚 Based on these insights, we will develop practical guidelines for addressing Israel-related antisemitism in educational contexts.
More to come.

Transitioning from military to civilian life is not just about finding a job — it’s about finding direction.
For many veterans, skills developed during service dies not automatically translate directly into the civilian workforce.
Higher Education plays a key role in bridging that gap — opening new career paths and opportunities.
With a deep understanding of the service mindset, Touro Berlin offers structure, support, and purpose—filling your new mission in life with the contents to become real.
In this interview, Michael Concepcion shares why this step is essential for building a strong future after service.

Somewhere between deadlines, memories, and late nights… this chapter of life is slowly coming to a perfect end for our graduating students. It still doesn’t feel real, but in just a few weeks it will — see you at graduation on June 1st and join the joy of the whole Touro Berlin family and their loved ones🫶

This is NOT just a virtual tour… it’s something where you become involved. And fighting Antisemitism and fighting the Denial of the Holocaust needs true involvement.

At Touro Berlin, we hosted a powerful event: the Auschwitz-Birkenau Virtual Tour — “Auschwitz in Front of Your Eyes” — made possible with the support of the Embassy of Monaco 🇲🇨

This tour was presented to the European Parliament on April 15, 2026, just days before it came to us — and to the United Nations in January 2026. We were the first university to host this unique history experience.
Special thanks to His Excellency Ambassador Lorenzo Ravano and to Wojciech “Wojtek” Soczewica, Director General of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, for bringing this initiative to our campus.

Most people think they know history.
But what if you had a chance to experience it?
This tour is designed to:
→ make you become involved
→ confront uncomfortable truths
→ understand what textbooks can’t show
→ build an experience that is very personal

It’s not an easy undergoing. And that’s exactly why it matters.
“NEVER AGAIN” only works if we truly understand.
🎓 At Touro Berlin, it doesn’t matter if you study business, psychology, or anything else — real-world EXPERIENCES are part of your educational journey.
For us understanding history is not optional; it’s essential!

BERLIN IS OUR CLASSROOM
Studying in Berlin means stepping outside the classroom.
On April 14, 2026, our students visited the Jewish Museum Berlin with lecturer Paul Schilling, who regularly organizes excursions that bring learning beyond campus.
From world-class museums to historically significant sites, Berlin offers countless opportunities to engage with history where it happened. At the Jewish Museum Berlin, students explored the permanent exhibition on Jewish life in Germany through immersive spaces, personal stories, and historical artifacts.
Experiences like these are an integral part of student life at Touro Berlin, connecting academic learning with the unique cultural landscape of the city.
Come and join us!

Through the Mentoring Program, students connect with leaders who share not only their experience, but also the insights you won’t find in textbooks — from career decisions to the unspoken rules of the professional world.

A chance to ask questions, gain clarity, and take the next step with more confidence.
Unleash your potential and think seriously:
What would you ask your mentor? 💬
