👉 Goethe or telc – which exam should you take?

Here’s the tea ☕👇

✅ Goethe B1:
1. The OG (Original Gangster 😎) of German exams
2. Recognized worldwide 🌍
3. Slightly more structured & academic
4. Great if you love clear formats and traditional exams

✅ telc B1:
1. More “real-life” focused đŸ—Ŗī¸
2. Often considered a bit more practical
3. Speaking part can feel more natural (less robotic 🤖)
4. Sometimes easier for students who struggle with strict formats

😂 Funny truth:
If Goethe is like writing a formal email to your bossâ€Ļ
telc is like chatting with your cool colleague over coffee ☕

💡 So which one is better?
👉 Choose Goethe if you want global recognition + structured exams
👉 Choose telc if you prefer practical communication + slightly relaxed vibe

đŸ”Ĩ At the end of the dayâ€Ļ BOTH are valid. The best exam is the one YOU feel confident in đŸ’Ē

đŸ‡Ŧ🇧 Many people often ask me a question:
“How long does it take to reach B1 level in the German language?”

The short answer is: it largely depends on your consistency and practice.

But to give you a realistic idea, it’s easier to understand this way: if you study regularly and practice the language every day, it usually takes around 8 to 12 months to go from A1 → A2 → B1.

Some people think it’s possible to reach B1 within 3–4 months, but in reality that is very rare. Because B1 does not only mean knowing grammar. At B1 level, you should be able to manage daily life in German—such as having basic conversations, understanding simple discussions, reading some documents, and expressing your opinions in a simple way.

Language learning is actually a long-term journey. The most important thing here is consistency. If you practice a little every day, the language gradually becomes more natural.

And I always say one thing—if you want to come to Germany, German language is not a luxury, it is a necessity. The stronger your language skills are, the easier your life will be in Germany.

So be patient, practice regularly, and believe in yourself.

đŸ‡Ŧ🇧In today’s world, many parents are wondering: is knowing only English enough for the future? The reality is that the world has become much more competitive. That’s why if your child can learn a strong third language alongside English from an early age, it can significantly expand their future opportunities. From this perspective, learning the German language can be an excellent decision. Germany currently has one of the strongest economies in Europe and is a global leader in important sectors such as Engineering, Technology, Research, and Healthcare. One of the most attractive aspects is that most public universities in Germany have almost no tuition fees. In many cases, international students can study by paying only a semester contribution. For this reason, thousands of students from all over the world choose Germany for higher education every year. If your child starts building a strong foundation in the German language now, it will make the path much easier for them in the future to pursue a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or even Ausbildung in Germany. Learning languages at a young age is much easier and faster because children’s brains absorb new languages very quickly. As people grow older, learning the same language often becomes more challenging. So if you start introducing German as a third language for your child today, perhaps in 10–15 years that decision could open one of the biggest opportunities in their life. Those who prepare early for the future are the ones who move ahead.

đŸ‡Ŧ🇧 Ongoing War in the Middle East — How Could It Affect Moving to Germany?

The current war situation in the Middle East has created global concern. Naturally, many people planning to study, work, do Ausbildung, or reunite with family in Germany are asking: Will this affect migration to Germany?

First, an important clarification: Germany is not a war zone. Daily life, universities, visa processing, language courses, and workplaces are functioning normally.

However, there may be indirect effects:

1. Increased Immigration Pressure

In times of conflict, asylum applications may rise. This can sometimes increase the workload at immigration offices, potentially causing slightly longer processing times.

2. Stronger Security Measures

European countries often tighten security during global conflicts. Airports, borders, and public areas may have stricter checks. This is generally for public safety.

3. Economic Impact

The Middle East plays a key role in global energy markets. Prolonged conflict can affect oil prices, transport costs, and inflation. Living costs in Germany may experience some fluctuations.

4. Political Discussions

Conflicts often increase political debates around migration and security. However, Germany’s long-term policy remains clear — the country continues to welcome international students and skilled professionals.

Should You Pause Your Plan to Move to Germany?

Not necessarily. In fact, this is the time to focus on:

✔ Accurate information
✔ Strong language skills
✔ Financial planning
✔ Proper documentation

Global politics can shift quickly, but education and skills remain stable investments. Germany continues to be one of Europe’s strongest economies and a destination for opportunity.

Instead of reacting with fear, respond with preparation.

đŸ‡Ŧ🇧 One thing that truly amazes me in Germany is how independent the children are. As soon as they grow a little older, you see them riding their own bicycles or scooters to Kita or school. Small backpacks on their shoulders, helmets on, confidently crossing the streets by following traffic signals. It’s such a beautiful sight.

When I see these little kids navigating the streets on their own, it makes me genuinely happy. But I also realize—this is only possible because the environment supports them. The infrastructure is child-friendly. There are proper sidewalks, separate bicycle lanes, safe crossings, parks, and playgrounds. The system is designed in a way that allows children to gradually learn responsibility and independence.

And then my heart quietly thinks about Bangladesh—especially the children growing up in Dhaka.

So many of them grow up within four walls. School, coaching, home. Very limited open playgrounds. Limited safe public spaces. Roads that are not child-friendly. Parents are often too afraid to let their children move freely outside—and honestly, who can blame them? Safety is a real concern.

For a child’s mental and emotional development, open spaces and free play are not luxuries—they are necessities. Running on grass, falling and getting up again, climbing, exploring, solving little problems with friends—these experiences build resilience, confidence, and emotional intelligence.

In Bangladesh, many parents protect their children out of fear. And that protection is understandable. But sometimes, without realizing it, we might also be limiting their independence because the environment doesn’t feel safe enough to let them explore.

Germany shows me how much surroundings matter. When a country invests in safe infrastructure, green spaces, and child-friendly planning, children naturally grow up more confident and self-reliant.

I am not comparing cultures in terms of love or family bonds—Bangladesh has unmatched warmth and closeness. But when it comes to urban planning and safe public spaces for children, there is so much we could improve.

A country’s future is shaped by its children. And children need more than just academic success—they need space, safety, nature, and the freedom to grow.

Watching these little kids cycle independently in Germany doesn’t just make me smile—it makes me reflect. What kind of environment are we building for our own children?

One day, one of my German colleagues casually mentioned that they have a pet at home. Naturally, I assumed it must be a dog or a cat. I mean, what else could it be? But she surprised me by saying their pet is actually a turtle. I was honestly shocked. A turtle? As a pet?

She explained that her son had insisted on getting it years ago. But the funniest part is that the son has now moved to Switzerland, leaving all the responsibility to his mother. Completely tension-free life!

They’ve been raising this turtle for seven years now. It was as small as a finger when they first got it. They feed it salad and leafy greens, but very carefully — not too much, because apparently it can gain weight! Yes, even turtles here are kept on a healthy, controlled diet. She even showed me videos of the turtle happily biting its food. I have to admit, it looked quite cute.

What surprised me even more was that when they go on vacation, they take the turtle with them. It is treated like a real family member.

But then came the most unbelievable part. I asked her where the turtle is now, thinking it must be in some box or aquarium. She calmly said, “In the fridge.” I thought she was joking. But no — from October until March or April, around six to seven months, the turtle stays inside the fridge to hibernate. It doesn’t eat or drink during this period because it cannot survive outside in winter. During this time, its heartbeat slows down to almost once per minute. I was completely speechless.

And then he told me something even more shocking — a turtle can live between 120 to 180 years if everything goes well. So I jokingly asked her, “After you pass away, will your grandchildren continue taking care of this turtle?” Germany truly never stops surprising me. Tell me honestly — would you also be this shocked, or did you already know about this?
