Let's think together for a moment. What do you fear the most?
When we step into the creative process with courage, we are facing uncertainty and we are saying to that same uncertainty: I don't know what to expect, but in spite of it, I'm curious and ready.
Curiosity —This is where everything begins. You are curious because you don't know the result, but you look forward to the process.
In the Digital Stories Berlin course, we will explore how to use our emotions as a strength and how to channel them into a unique digital story that reflects all of you and all of there is — beyond fear.
Are you curious to transform everything you are holding back into your most authentic narrative?

All of the spaces that captured my attention I translated into an image —by fantasizing about them in a way that I have integrated my thoughts into their walls and surfaces.
I remember those spaces now as unseen realities —that I have indeed seen once.
I wondered if ... by creating this photograph I give these
lonely spaces a feeling of inner immensity.
I only wasn’t sure whether I had
been, at that time, inside the building, or in front?
It doesn’t really matter.
What I am certain is that I will remember this image, every time again, in a different
way.

Sometimes, in our creative process, we’re not quite where we want to be. But through imagination, we get a glimpse of the possible. Moondog’s ‘Song to the Sea Horse’ became a mystical echo of solitude guiding ideas that feel distant yet destined to become real. This looped melody invites us into an endless journey, one where we’re drawn back to the sea horse, to sea horse - again and again.
Where did this piece take you? And what's your song of the week? Share your thoughts in the comments. ✨

In the evening like this, do you also go salsa dancing with your own confusion?
dance
dance
create
This quote reminds me of how solitude can be both whimsical and profound. In quiet moments, we often find ourselves navigating confusion—playing with it, dancing with it—until we turn it into creativity.
For me, poetical digital storytelling is like dancing. It’s about exploring internal questions and transforming them into the most imaginative stories. Are you dancing it out tonight?
So curious to hear the next lines of the story behind your art. Let's discover it together - Join Digital Stories Berlin. ✨

In times of being alone with yourself and your art, who is creating whom?
Why silent?
Who did you send your last message to, and what are you running from at this moment?
Create. Where do your ideas come from? Are they born in the shower, or does everything connect to the room you are in right now?
Why silent?
Everybody has a to-do list, but do you have a wild backup plan?
Create.
When alone, would you call it freedom or loneliness?
Create. Meet yourself. Cheers to the greatest creativity of all time.

Images you wanted to steal. Images that feel like they belong to you, yet they exist in someone else’s phone.
Someone saw this before you, and yet for you, it seems so familiar. I didn’t find this image - It found me. This is what we call new and familiar. Recognition starts here.
And a story? What is the story behind this image?
Do you think it is just an abstract composition? Or do you see the merging of the natural and the cosmic?
Poetical digital storytelling begins right here - hands gently passing through the branches and slowly swaying them, turning the light on and off. It invites you to contemplate the stories beyond what’s visible, to find the meaning in the unseen.
Do you see the hands? And the trees moving? Can you hear the song? Is it the wheel spinning? Or is life very different in each moment? Where am I in this story? What else can I imagine?

What happens when jazz meets poetry? This week, we’re diving into Chet Baker’s Chet on Poetry, where spoken word blends seamlessly with the soulful tones of his trumpet.
In In a Sentimental Mood, Baker reads Gianluca Manzi’s poetry, reminding us that storytelling isn’t just about the words—it’s also about how they are spoken. Each note and pause adds depth to the story.

Sunday is here. Time to creatively wonder and reflect. What is for you poetry, beyond the poems? Do you use poetic elements in your work?
When we talk about the poetical approach to digital storytelling, it’s easy to think of poetry. But ‘poetical’ goes far beyond that. In this context, it refers to:
a) a distinctive writing style paired with the sound of voice-over narration,
b) an imaginary atmosphere shaped by sound and music, and
c) the creation of unseen realities through visual presentations.
This approach transcends traditional storytelling by merging narrative, sound, and visuals into a seamless artistic expression. It explores identity through personal narrative, giving voice to what lies beneath the surface. By challenging the linear form, it offers a new, innovative, and deeply reflective approach to storytelling. This is where the boundaries of art and storytelling blur, creating space for new artistic knowledge.
Comment ‘poetical’ if you’d like to learn how to use the poetical approach to digital storytelling when sharing your art stories.

Ever feel like a song or piece of art finds you at the perfect moment?
In storytelling, we choose music carefully, because we are taking our audience by the hand. We want to show them exactly how we felt in that moment, how we feel now, or how we imagine things to be. We take our audience by the hand, and if it feels right, we connect—beyond words, beyond time.
This week’s composition, “Hawaii Oslo” by Hania Rani, reminds us how powerful these connections are.
