+++ Physik-Team „Die, die durch Null teilen“ gewinnt beim aluMPI-Pubquiz beim Sommerfest der Fakultät 1 +++

Es war ein Kopf-an-Kopf-Rennen bis zur letzten Frage: In einem packenden und hochspannenden Finale konnte sich das Physiker-Team „Die, die durch Null teilen“ den ersten Platz beim diesjährigen aluMPI-Pubquiz sichern. Mit einer Mischung aus Fachwissen und einer ordentlichen Portion Teamgeist setzten sie sich gegen die Konkurrenz durch.

Doch damit nicht genug: Das Physikalische Institut konnte in diesem Jahr gleich doppelt feiern, denn auch der begehrte Instituts-Preis ging an die Physik.

Wir danken herzlich der Fachschaft MPI und dem Fakultätsverein aluMPI für die tolle Organisation beim Sommerfest der Fakultät 1!

Und natürlich freuen wir uns auf die Revanche beim Pubquiz im nächsten Jahr! 😊

+++ Physics team ‘Die, die durch Null teilen’ wins aluMPI Pub Quiz at Faculty 1 Summer Party +++

It was a neck-and-neck race right down to the final question: in a gripping and high-stakes finale, the physics team ‘Die, die durch Null teilen’ (‘Those Who Divide by Zero’) secured first place in this year’s aluMPI Pub Quiz. Combining specialist knowledge with a great deal of team spirit, they managed to edge out the competition.

But the celebrations didn't stop there: the Department of Physics had double the reason to cheer this year, as the coveted Institute Prize was also awarded to Physics.

Our sincere thanks go to the MPI student council and the aluMPI faculty association for the fantastic organisation of the Faculty 1 Summer Party!

And, of course, we are already looking forward to the rematch at next year’s quiz! 😊

+++ Verleihung der Nachhaltigkeitspreise 2026 an der Universität Bayreuth +++

Im Rahmen der Nachhaltigkeitstage an der Universität Bayreuth wurden die Nachhaltigkeitspreise 2026 für Abschlussarbeiten durch den Präsidenten Prof. Dr. Stefan Leible verliehen.

Den ersten Platz des Nachhaltigkeitspreises der Universität Bayreuth für Abschlussarbeiten erhielt Leonhard Schatt für seine Masterarbeit zum Thema „Autonomous Solubility Mapping via Gaussian Process Regression: Exploring Sustainable Solvent Compositions for Organic Photovoltaics“. Betreuende der Arbeit waren Prof. Dr. Eva M. Herzig und Dr. Fabian Eller (Herzig Group – Dynamik und Strukturbildung).

+++ Awarding of the 2026 Sustainability Prizes at the University of Bayreuth +++

As part of the Sustainability Days at the University of Bayreuth, the 2026 Sustainability Prizes for final theses were awarded yesterday evening by the President, Professor Dr. Stefan Leible.

First place in the University of Bayreuth Sustainability Prize for final theses was awarded to Leonhard Schatt, M.Sc., for his Master’s thesis entitled “Autonomous Solubility Mapping via Gaussian Process Regression: Exploring Sustainable Solvent Compositions for Organic Photovoltaics.” The thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Eva M. Herzig and Dr. Fabian Eller (Herzig Group – Dynamics and Structure Formation).
