Master History & Economics

The new Master at the University of Bayreuth which combines the two perspectives of historians and economists. Why are some Nations rich and others poor?

Economic history addresses a wide range of questions: What are the underlying reasons for economic growth? What explains economic crises and recovery? What is capitalism? Has it always functioned the same way? When did it come into existence? The master’s programme History & Economics provides students with tools and approaches from History and Economics to discuss those questions (and many more) – using an interdisciplinary approach that combines the best of two perspectives.
