Project Digital competence and information literacy for librarians

Photos from LNB Bibliotēku attīstības centrs's post 04/08/2026

The National Library of Latvia takes pride in its efforts to foster media literacy competencies within libraries!

The fourth year of the "Media Literacy Masters" program concluded with in-person events on May 29 and remote sessions on June 5.
23 library professionals from across Latvia—representing various types of libraries—completed the training.

To receive their final certification, the new "masters" had to apply the knowledge gained during six training seminars by organizing a media literacy activity for their communities—whether for readers, colleagues, or even interested individuals outside the library premises.

This non-formal professional development program is organized by the Library Development Centre of the National Library of Latvia with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
