"It is dangerous to jump in under the sword after your opponent has raised it. Blend with the movement of the sword at the moment he is raising it!"

Today we had a "Sayonara-Training" for our student Annika, because she is going to travel to Finland for 5 months. We gave her a book about Iwama ryu Aikido and a bottle of Gin to keep her warm in the "Land of Thousand Lakes". Annika san has a strong spirit and a strong technique. We are very proud of her!!!

Last Seminar in our old Dōjō! We had a great time here especially with Saito Hitohira Sensei, Stephanie Yap Sensei, Volker Hochwald Sensei, Carsten Sensei and many more...

I would like to thank everyone from the Bottom of my heart who made this place into something special! We are working hard to build the new Budo Shuren Dōjō in Augsburg as our place to be...to study Budō and Japanese Culture, to keep Friendships and have great Parties...

Last but not least: Congratulations to Thomas Helm for Sandan and Woldemar Fitz for Shodan!!!

"The basic principle is to attack… It is said: 'There is no defense that surpasses an attack.' (攻撃に勝る防御なし)– at least in the case of shomenuchi, that is an attack."

Saito Morihiro (1928-2002)

真の武は神より来るものである。武は戈を止めしむる意であつて、破壊殺傷の術は真の武ではない。

"True martial arts come from the gods. The intent of martial arts is the stopping of the spear, techniques that cause destruction, killing and wounding are not true martial arts."

"When teaching aiki no waza (合氣の技) Hisa Takuma practiced it very slowly. However slowly i did it, Hisa san said, 'Takeda Sogaku did it far more slowly'. Hisa san taught me that once you master aiki no waza in this way, you would be able to do it quickly."
