Optometry Master "Excellence in Vision Care" The study program ”Master of Science M.Sc. degree

in Vision Science and Business (Optometry)“ offers a broad variety of optometry-related courses. The classes are predominantly lectured in English by renowned professors from American Partner Universities. New England College of Optometry (Boston, MA)
Pacific University College of Optometry (Forest Grove, OR)

The study program is on a part-time basis allowing for full-time employment and usually

takes four semesters (24 months). Direct classroom and laboratory workshops are presented approximately once a month over an extended weekend (Friday through Tuesday). Moreover, it is possible to participate in study visits of two weeks each at the co-operation universities in the U.S.A. These are the New England College of Optometry (Clinical Optometry) and the Pacific University (Vision Therapy, Pediatric Optometry, Sports Vision). These lectures, as well as the experience abroad, are strongly recommended. The Master’s program offers the flexible choice of courses and core modules corresponding to the students’ interests. A least-score of various modules is required in order to graduate with the internationally recognized Master of Science (M.Sc.)

On September 26 and 27, 2026, the alumni association Aalen Friends of Optometry e.V. will host its annual continuing education event at the historic Benediktbeuern Abbey. The two-day meeting will bring together alumni, current students, practicing optometrists and prospective students from Germany and abroad, offering a unique combination of advanced clinical education, scientific exchange and professional networking. The program reflects the international character and strong clinical focus of Aalen University’s part-time master’s program Vision Science and Business (Optometry).

Aalen Friends of Optometry e.V. invites optometrists, alumni, and prospective students to a two-day continuing education event on September 26-27, 2026.The event is accredited with 12 SwissOptom credits and 8 Continuing Optometric Education (COE) credits, providing participants with an excellent opportunity for professional development and continuing education.
A special offer is available for bachelor’s degree graduates interested in pursuing further academic qualifications. They may attend the event free of charge and gain exclusive insights into the Vision Science and Business (Optometry) master’s program.

📚 optoMEETry 6.0 zu Gast in Aalen

Volles Haus, spannende Vorträge und jede Menge fachlicher Austausch: Die optoMEETry 6.0 der VDCO Young war auch in diesem Jahr ein voller Erfolg.

Studierende aus ganz Deutschland nutzten die Gelegenheit, von erfahrenen Referentinnen und Referenten zu lernen, aktuelle Entwicklungen der Optometrie kennenzulernen und wertvolle Kontakte zu knüpfen.

Die Veranstaltung zeigt jedes Jahr aufs Neue, dass nachhaltiges Lernen dort entsteht, wo wissenschaftliche Grundlagen auf praktische Erfahrungen treffen. Genau diese Verbindung aus Theorie, Praxis und persönlichem Austausch zeichnet auch das Studium der Augenoptik und Optometrie an der Hochschule Aalen aus.
