After another unforgettable walking safari in Kidepo Valley National Park, I continue one of the biggest adventures of my journey through Uganda—a demanding hike to Mount Lomej.

Before sunrise, we leave camp in a safari jeep and drive through Kidepo Valley as the first light reveals incredible wildlife across the landscape. Along the way I learn more about the animals that live here before we stop at a remote ranger outpost, where another ranger joins our expedition.

The hike to Mount Lomej is physically demanding but every step is worth it. During the climb I discover more about the local culture, the wildlife of Kidepo, and life in one of Uganda's most remote national parks. Reaching the summit rewards us with spectacular views over the surrounding wilderness as we enjoy a well-earned snack before making our way back down.

🇺🇬 After leaving Kotido, I continue my journey towards Kidepo Valley National Park. The adventure starts with a matatu ride and continues on the back of a boda through the remote landscapes of Karamoja.

Along the way, I spend a night in Karenga, where I unexpectedly make new friends and somehow end up becoming a local gardener for the afternoon. The next morning, it's finally time to reach Kidepo Valley National Park and experience my first real walking safari with an armed ranger.

Everything goes according to plan until a buffalo decides otherwise...

This vlog follows my first real independent hike without a guide as I walk through remote villages, meet local people, and experience daily life far from Uganda's usual tourist routes.

Despite the language barrier, the day was filled with genuine interactions, unexpected encounters, and unforgettable moments. Traveling independently through Karamoja gave me a unique glimpse into one of Uganda's most authentic and least-visited regions.

🇺🇬 In this episode, I travel deep into Northern Uganda, into the remote region of Karamoja near the city of Kotido.

Everything suddenly feels different here. Different tribes, different traditions, different clothing, different way of life. It honestly felt like entering a completely different world.

Most of this vlog takes place inside a traditional Karamoja village built almost entirely from branches and natural materials. The local people welcomed me warmly and patiently answered countless questions about their daily life, customs, traditions, homes, marriage, cattle, and culture.

This became one of the rawest and most authentic experiences I have ever had in Uganda — and honestly one of the strongest travel experiences of my life. It was far beyond anything I expected before arriving here.

Karamoja showed me a side of Uganda that very few travelers ever truly experience.

I left Sipi Falls heading towards Moroto, but the journey didn’t go as planned.
Somewhere along the way, our matatu broke down… and I found myself stuck in the middle of nowhere, still 100 km from my destination.

But instead of stress, something unexpected happened.

I met local people, shared moments, and realized that sometimes being “lost” doesn’t feel lost at all.

Later, I managed to negotiate a ride that helped not only me, but also others who couldn’t afford it.

When I finally reached Moroto, everything felt different — the landscape, the culture, the people.

Together with my guide Dennis, I climbed Mount Moroto, learned about the Tepeth tribe, and cooled off at St. Lawrence Falls after a long, hot day.

This part of Uganda showed me a completely different world.
