English for Mary

Hello to whoever reads this!
I´m leaving for the United States in two weeks unless something unexpected happens. Won´t be here till November. No English for Mary in the meantime, I´m afraid. We´ll see after I come back. Take care!

It´ s been almost ten months since we last had a lesson, and we are still not sure when we open again. Nevertheless, I sent to Mary ´s Meals what we collected before the lockdown. It was a hefty 14 000 Kč donation. Thank you all!

Owing to the coronavirus measures getting more and more severe, the start of EfM lessons is postponed this year. Let´s pray things get better soon. I don´t know when it will be possible to run our first lesson, but I will keep you informed.

Good news! We have a place to meet! School premises at Gymnázium Šlapanice are still closed for visitors, but there is room for us in the parsonage (= fara). EfM lessons may start October 12.
I´ll keep you informed.

September is almost here but I ´m still not able to bring any news for you. The situation is unstable. Due to Covid, the public is not welcome inside the school building. This may change to better or even worse in the following days. Let´ s see next week. I ´ ll keep you informed.

I regret to say EFM lessons will not open until September. The school building stays closed till then. We hope to see you next school year!

EfM lessons will be cancelled till further notice.
Schools are closed, shops are closed, sometimes it feels like we are closed.
But let our hearts be open!
In the time when we fear an illness that kills tens of people every day, think of poverty, that has been killing thousands of kids every day. (According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.) Mary´s Meals are trying to help these kids.

Mary’s Meals chce zajistit jedno jídlo denně dětem, které kvůli hladu nechodí do školy a díky vzdělání jim pomoci, aby se mohly vymanit z chudoby.
