On May 2nd, Metropol’s foundation course students decided that textbooks could wait, but adventure couldn't! 🎓

✨ With the academic year slowly winding down, the crew headed to Kutná Hora for a much-needed recharge before the final exams.

It wasn't just a trip; it was a mission to soak up inspiration and fresh air. After all, the best way to ace a test is to give your brain a proper "day off" first!Why Kutná Hora is a must-visit:

Preparing for TOEFL is not just about "learning English", but a strategic game with a timer and strict algorithms!

Below is an analysis of how the training takes place and what our Metropol school focuses on.

🔹Intensive (1 month): for those who need to quickly "gather" knowledge and hone the technique of completing tasks.
🔹Standard (3 months): in-depth study of all aspects of the language and gradual adaptation to the academic format.
🔹Exam Training: special training 2-3 days before the official date of completion - the final run in conditions as close as possible to the real ones.

Strategies for key blocks 🚀
📖 Reading: the art of fast search
Instead of reading each word thoughtfully, the techniques are taught at Metropol:
Skimming & Scanning: how to find the answer in a text in seconds without reading it in its entirety.
Typology of questions: analysis of traps in tasks for synonyms, insertion of sentences and definition of the main idea.

🗣 Speaking: patterns and confidence
The most stressful block, where the answer is given from 45 to 60 seconds.
Working with templates: ready-made speech constructions that save time on thinking about the structure.
Tempo training: the ability to express opinions clearly and reasonably, keeping up with tight timing.
Recording and analysis: Listening to your answers to correct intonation and grammatical errors.

🎧 Listening & ✍ Writing
Note-taking: A special technique for taking notes during lectures, so as not to miss details for subsequent questions.
Academic essay: elaboration of logical links (linkers) and structures for Integrated and Academic Discussion tasks.

Registration is still open! April is the last month to submit your application for the state exam and receive a certificate in time for university admissions.

📅 Mark these exam dates in our school:
🔹 MAY 15 — B2 exam (required for admission to most public universities in the Czech Republic for free tuition and for employment).
🔹 MAY 22 — C1 exam (for medical professionals, lawyers, and those aiming for top positions in international companies).
