The number of women in managerial positions has increased significantly over the last few decades. However, the rate of progress is slow and uneven. Women are still perceived as being less suited than men for managerial positions and strongly held stereotypes are resistant to change. Haritini Tsangari from University of Nicosia presented her study related to this topic at our last conference.

Douglas Chun with his academic colleagues from University of La Verne, IBMEC - Faculdade, Washburn University, Ambedkar University Delhi, Youngstown State University, University of Minho, Universidad de La Salle, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela collected 1452 valid responses for their survey "An Exploratory Study on Cultural Values. Preliminary Findings." They found the countries surveyed no longer appear to be in the same relative positions as when Hofstede first published his results in 1980, or his more recent results after using data from WVS.
