What share of your exhibition has good Wi-Fi or mobile coverage?

We ask because many museums sit in historic buildings with thick stone walls. And those don't really work with a stable internet connection. You can have great content and a polished app, but if the interaction stutters, the whole audioguide experience falls flat.

That's why we've added an offline mode to Cabinet of Wonders: visitors download the full content in their language up front, and the app quietly switches to the downloaded data the moment the signal drops. No interruptions while listening, no "loading…".

For the first time in the Czech Republic: a major exhibition of William Kentridge at Kunsthalle Praha.

The Battle Between YES and NO presents more than four decades of work by the internationally acclaimed artist. You will encounter drawings, film animations, sculptures, theatre projects and immersive installations. Discover the iconic Drawings for Projection series, the installation To Cross One More Sea, and works created especially for Prague, including the multimedia piece A Letter to Felice. The exhibition unfolds as a spatial collage, inviting you to follow your own path through questions of memory, power and uncertainty.

Kunsthalle Praha frames this powerful body of work within the unique space of a former transformer station in the heart of the city.

The audio guide was created by the curators and educators of Kunsthalle Praha, with Cabinet of Wonders supporting its digital format. You can start anywhere, listen in multiple languages and move through the exhibition at your own pace.

The Baroque grandeur, monumental frescoes and a garden with a labyrinth: you can now explore Troja Palace with a new visitor guide in the Cabinet of Wonders app.

At the Troja chateau, you will step into richly decorated interiors where history and grand architecture inspired by Roman villas come alive. You will see monumental fresco paintings that rank among the highlights of Baroque art in the Czech lands. You can also stroll through the extensive garden that completes the atmosphere of the entire complex. The guide was created by the Galerie hlavního města Prahy, and its voice was generated with the help of artificial intelligence, allowing you to discover details and connections from a new perspective.

How can an help you test the in a museum or gallery?

In autumn 2025, together with regional institutions across the Czech Republic, we ran ten seminars for museum professionals. One of the main topics was testing the visitor experience.

What did we learn? Systematic work with visitor feedback is the exception, not the rule. Even when curators and educators think carefully about who the exhibition is for, they only get real feedback by accident. Structured user testing, or rather visitor testing, barely exists. Time, people, and budget are all in short supply.

In a new article, Anna Ulahelová offers one way to start testing without a large budget: use an AI chatbot to simulate visitors. The approach has three steps. You build a concrete persona (say, a twenty-year-old IT student who rarely visits museums), provide photos of the exhibition along with the curatorial texts, and apply the PAINS & GAINS method. In other words, you ask about the pleasures and frustrations the simulated student would experience.

It is not a perfect substitute for real visitors. AI cannot tell how a label reads under harsh side lighting, nor what happens when a school group crowds in front of a display case. But it does reveal a great deal.

At a workshop in the Jihočeské muzeum v Českých Budějovicích, for instance, we used this method to test the exhibition "The Story of the City." The chatbot itself flagged the risk of text overload, the gap between what visitors expect and what they actually find, and weak points in the storytelling.

On top of that, this kind of feedback is available immediately. And you can get it before the exhibition opens its doors to the first real visitors.

Cabinet of Wonders celebrates its first birthday!

A year ago, we launched our AI guide at the first exhibition at Pragovka Gallery. Today, we work with 17 museums and galleries across the Czech Republic.
