It started with children sitting on the ground. On a field. In a backyard. Under a simple roof next to a family home. Years ago, there were no classrooms, no equipment, and no big organization behind this project. Just Intan — a teacher who believed that education could open doors for children in her community that had always seemed out of reach. ❤️ So she started with what she had. A whiteboard. A few children. And a dream. Day after day, more students came. Children sat close together on the ground, eager to learn English and create new opportunities for their future. Families believed in the vision. Volunteers from around the world joined to help. Little by little, simple learning spaces were built. What began as lessons in a backyard slowly turned into something much bigger — a place filled with curiosity, laughter, friendship, and hope. 🌴 Today, the classrooms are fuller than ever. More children want to learn, but there is almost no space left. Students are sitting shoulder to shoulder because this small school has already outgrown itself. And honestly… that is something beautiful. Because it means this dream matters. Now, we are hoping to take the next step together: building a real school where even more children can learn, grow, and dream bigger. Imagine going to school every day… in someone’s backyard.

In Lombok, Indonesia, that’s the reality for dozens of children learning English with an incredible teacher named Intan. For years, she has been teaching from her own home — creating opportunities for kids who otherwise wouldn’t have access to education.

Together with her husband Kasab, she teaches 6 days a week, helping children and teenagers build a better future through English.

But now, the small backyard classroom is no longer enough.

More and more students want to join, and we want to help Intan build a real school.

We are raising €50,000:
• €20,000 for the land
• €30,000 for the school building

We had the chance to volunteer there ourselves, and seeing the impact Intan has on these kids was something we will never forget. The motivation, kindness, and hope in this community are truly inspiring.

❤️ Our volunteers are organizing a fundraiser to support a village in Lombok that became their second home.

They are returning on April 27th and hope to bring resources directly to the local community before the dry season. There they met Jumerim – a farmer who spends his free time teaching children English for free, helping them build a brighter future.

The fundraiser will support:
📚 school supplies and kids programs
💧 water support before dry season
🤝 direct help on the ground with full transparency

This community gave our volunteers so much love and kindness, and now they want to give something back.

❤️ Naši dobrovolníci pořádají sbírku na podporu vesnice na Lomboku, která se jim stala druhým domovem.

27. dubna se do vesnice vrací a chtějí s sebou přivézt pomoc přímo místní komunitě před obdobím sucha. Poznali tam Jumerima – farmáře, který ve svém volném čase zdarma učí děti angličtinu, aby měly lepší budoucnost.

Sbírka pomůže zajistit:
📚 školní pomůcky a programy pro děti
💧 podporu přístupu k vodě před obdobím sucha
🤝 přímou pomoc na místě s maximální transparentností

this is Tereza from School in Paradise. We are searching for volunteers who are willing to volunteer in Lombok, Indonesia and teach our underprivileged students in local language courses. Unfortunately, we can’t cover your expenses, but we can offer you accommodation in our teachers’ courses with minimum expenses paid for meals.
