🎮 In August our partner university Metropolia from Helsinki attended Devcom 2024, Europe's largest game developer conference, and hosted the workshop "Expert Insights: Defining Game Industry Competences." They presented the current version of the updated Competence Map and the overall vision on the essential skills needed in the evolving gamedev landscape.

🚀 Gamebadges Project Update 🚀

🛠 What's Up? The development of our competence-based Open Badge ecosystem is ongoing. These digital badges will eventually serve as micro-credentials, recognizing and validating game industry competences across Europe. Our gamedev students will also soon be able to obtain these badges in our courses!

Throughout 2024, we will update the Competence Map with insights from workshops, surveys, and interviews conducted with industry veterans and educators.

🌟 We're proud to partner with the Gamebadges project, launching the first-ever European-wide competence-based open badge ecosystem for the game industry and game education! This innovative initiative paves the way for a unified and transparent framework for recognizing and showcasing professional skills in the game industry.

🎯 Our project outcomes are:
1. The Competence Map of Game Industry Professions – a free online tool open for all
2. Open Badges for Game Industry Professions in three competence levels (Bronze, Silver and Gold)
3. Six pilot courses of silver skill-set badges for game educators and professionals of the Consortium
