Její hlavní cíl spočívá v přiblížení skutečné praxe světa diplomacie studentům diplomatických oborů a programů Fakulty mezinárodních vztahů. Patronkou JDI se stala Věra Jeřábková, ředitelka Diplomatické akademie ČR a několikanásobná velvyslankyně. Prostřednictvím interaktivních programů, exkurzí a diskuzí se zajímavými hosty JDI přibližuje aspirujícím diplomatům co nejvíce realitu jejich potenciál
ní budoucnosti. Vizí JDI je rozvíjet praktické schopnosti a vědomosti studentů, které budou moci v budoucnu uplatňovat. Usiluje o to stát se pomyslným mostem mezi mladými se zájmem o diplomacii a vybranými institucemi, kde by mohli najít své uplatnění. Junior Diplomat Initiative si velice váží podpory Fakulty mezinárodních vztahů VŠE v Praze, Ministerstva zahraničních věcí ČR a České spořitelny, jež umožňují činnost organizace. Od svého vzniku se mohla těšit vzniku třech svých sesterských organizací – ve Francii, Švýcarsku i Gruzii.

Student organization Junior Diplomat Initiative (JDI) was founded in 2011 at the Prague University of Economics and Business. Its main goal is to envision the real practice of the world of diplomacy to students of diplomatic programmes at the Faculty of International Relations. JDI is proud to call Věra Jeřábková, head of Diplomatic Academy of the Czech Republic and multiple ambassador, its patron. By means of interactive activities, field trips, and discussions with interesting guests, JDI strives to elucidate potential professional future to aspiring diplomats as well as possible. JDI's vision is to develop practical skills and knowledge of student, useful to them in their future efforts. It seeks becoming an imaginary bridge between the youth with interest in diplomacy and the institutions where they might find their employment later. Junior Diplomat Initiative is very grateful for the support of the Faculty of International Relations of the Prague University of Economics and Business, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, as well as the Česká spořitelna bank, which makes it possible for JDI to develop their activities. In its history, it has seen establishment of three of its sister organisations - in France, Switzerland, and Georgia.
