SUSCOS_M - SUStainable COnstructionS under natural hazards and catastrophic events - European Master degree

The focus of SUSCOS_M Sustainable Steel and Timber Constructions master course is to provide attendees the engineering ability and know-how to design and construct steel and timber structures in a balanced approach between economic, environmental and social aspects, enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of the steel and timber industry. The course is organized in three modules covering

buildings; from concrete, steel, timber, composite and mixed building technology, bridges and energy-related infra-structures and equipments with a practice oriented approach. A strong emphasis is given to the reduction of carbon footprint, the energy efficiency of buildings considering a life-cycle approach and the integration in the structural systems of renewable energies and innovative technologies. The courses are lectured in English by academics from all partner institutions and invited teachers from associated members. The first edition of the course will be carried out in Czech Republic and Portugal.

SUSCOS 2017-2019 edition will offer high level specialization in structural engineering at Politehnica University of Timisoara. The edition will be held with a strong support of the SUSCOS consortium: University of Coimbra, University of Naples Federico II, University of Liege and Technical University in Prague.

The 2017-2019 SUSCOS Edition will be held at the Politehnica University in Timișoara, Romania. The courses will be managed by the Politehnica scholar’s team and strengthened during the first year by the participation of SUSCOS consortium scholars: Czech Technical University in Prague, University of Naples Federico II, University of Liege and University of Coimbra

The sixth edition 2017-2019 Erasmus Mundus grants depend on funding from EACEA, which will be clarified in July 2017. However, we accept the Erasmus Mundus grant applications for Third countries as well for European countries students.
