If you are reading this, you have probably already been admitted to a programme at FIS. Although, if you are still waiting for your results, then I wish you good luck and I hope to see you on the hallways of VŠE in September!

I too have been in your shoes🥾, almost 2 years ago from the time of writing this post. I still remember how eager I was to know if I’d have gotten in. I thought this feeling would disappear once I already got to the lecture halls, but it somehow just kept growing, even after I was admitted.

I didn’t know what to expect. Whether everyone would already be a coding genius, or have a natural inclinatio
n towards statistics (that I really didn’t have). Whether I would make any friends, whether I would be able to keep up with the workload… Honestly, I was overwhelmed with the idea of university before it even started!

Looking back, I should’ve told myself to enjoy my summer and not worry so much. And that is exactly what I will try to convince you of in this post!

🍀 Good luck to everyone taking the admission exam this weekend! 🍀
Applicants to our English‑taught programmes at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics are currently working on their admission exams. Depending on the programme, candidates are asked to prepare either an essay or a case study on a given topic.
📝 The topics and instructions were sent out on Friday morning, and applicants have three days – until Sunday evening – to complete and submit their work.
🎓 The evaluation board will assess:

CVs
motivational videos
essays / case studies

📅 Results will be announced around May 22.
