With joyful photos and insightful bios, this is who will be representing DKUK at EUDC 2026 in Utrecht!
Tom is a phenomenal accountants who also runs debate like a complicated Excel sheet—precise, efficient, and followed by feedback longer than most speeches. As a debater, he’s the one quietly writing the cases and carrying from the background, with an ESL break at Vienna Open 2026, Final appearance at Budapest Open 2024, a title at Isfahan 2021, and winning Czech University Championship in 2025. He judged finals at the Czech Debate League in both 2023 and 2024 and the Cape Town Pre-WSDC 2024, where he also chaired the novice final, as well as semifinals at Munich Open 2026. Outside debate he dances and avoids the outdoors, and somehow always ends up picking the (debate) partner who finishes second.

As far back as I can count, I don't think anyone has been in more Czech Nationals finals more times than Emil (without winning any of them). Even as a judge, Emil has only ever judged the Slovak Debate League's semifinals (due to him being too successful as a coach) - second again! It appears that Filip Vrťo (from the previous EUDC team) and his streak of second-best speaker awards finally have a worthy competitor. But there is a first time for everything, so I am glad I can join Emil on his journey to break the curse at EUDC 2026!

I am convinced that Šimon is physically incapable of saying “no”, because I have never seen him turn down a single debate-related opportunity. Whether it’s debating, judging, serving as CA, or coaching, he manages to do it all. He even founded the Nový PORG debate club, only to leave us and coach another one. As a debater, he has broken in numerous international comps (and somehow always managed to lose the first outround) and is a two-time finalist at Czech nationals (or, in other words lost two finals out of two). As a judge, he has had considerably better luck, regularly breaking even further. When he is not doing anything debate-related, he studies econ as a side hobby (and suspiciously maxing political science courses) or climbs plastic rocks (despite having a complicated relationship with actual ones).
