As a partner of the project, an EU-funded project aiming to advance inclusive gender+ equality in Central Eastern Europe, we are excited to share its upcoming webinar on gender-based violence in sports!
Join the session as Dr Daniel Alsarve, a researcher in Sports Science at Örebro University, explores how violence in sports mirrors broader societal expectations of masculinity, where aggression and dominance are often equated with respect and social order. The webinar will also emphasize how creating gender-equitable behaviors can create positive outcomes for all genders, benefiting not only sports but society.

🌍 International Day at FTVS UK 🌟
On January 8th, 2025, the International Day took place in P6. During this event, faculty staff showcased their international experiences from the past year, 2024, through four themed sessions. ✨
The day began with the “UNUSUAL” block, highlighting original trips, such as recent visits to foreign universities with students from the University of the Third Age. The second session, “STAFF WEEK,” focused on trips enabling employees to improve their language or professional skills.
Next up was the “PROJECTS” block, presenting opportunities for departments and faculty units to get involved in ongoing or newly planned projects while encouraging new initiatives. The day concluded with “SCIENCE,” showcasing research activities and collaborations on an international scale.
Representatives from all departments shared their experiences from 22 countries worldwide. The event wasn’t just about professional insights—it was also about cultural and personal growth, a vital part of internationalization.
A huge thank you to everyone who came to share their stories or simply to listen and be inspired. 🙏 We’re excited to see what 2025 has in store for us!

Did you know that one of the key areas of wellbeing is the physical aspect?
✨ It is sometimes overlooked and often undervalued.
✨ Yet, physical wellbeing is essential for learning and is closely linked not only to cognitive abilities but also to mental health.
✨It is also a far more complex area than it might seem at first glance.
This is why representatives from academia, the nonprofit sector, and the Czech School Inspectorate (ČŠI) gathered at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University to discuss this topic and explore parallels and opportunities for collaboration to improve the wellbeing and learning of children and students in the Czech Republic.

🌎 We are International
Since 2022, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport has proudly partnered in the SUPPORTER project under the Horizon programme. This initiative empowers sports higher education institutions to create intersectional, innovative, and inclusive Gender Equality Plans. It also directly tackles issues such as gender-based violence and sexual harassment in sports education.
On October 10th, we presented the SUPPORTER project at the Sport Unites event, offering participants an opportunity to discuss gender equality and reflect on the broader impact of inequality across all stages of life and sport. 🙌💬
“The event was a great opportunity to introduce the topic of gender equality and the project, sparking spontaneous discussions and reflections on inequalities,” shared Veronika Nürnberger, University Ombudsperson Liaison at FTVS UK.
Find out more about the SUPPORTER project on the project website or on our faculty website.
