We’re launching new course! 🧡

This spring, we’re starting ArchiLab — a hands-on architecture & city design course for teenagers, in collaboration with CAMP - Centrum architektury a městského plánování .

ArchiLab is for curious minds who look at buildings and ask “why is it like this?”
Over the semester, students will think like architects, design real building, learn site analysis, draw basic plans, build models, and understand the importance of the civic architecture in the city.

The course is organised by CAMP, in it's fantastic educational space, and all materials are included. We keep the fee as accessible as possible, as making architecture education open to young people remains at the heart of what we do.

If you know a teenager who loves drawing, building, cities — or simply questioning the world around them — this course might be for them.

📍 Every Saturday, 13:00–15:00
📅 7 March – 30 May 2026
🌍 Taught in English (support available in CZ/UA/RO)

This semester, as part of the CAMP Archilab program, we’re hosting three interactive workshops exploring how cities are planned, designed, and lived in. Workshop are free and open to everyone from 12 to 16 years old.

Check out the program below and register via the link in bio — the number of places is limited!

🗓️ Upcoming workshops:
15/11 — Planning the City
Explore the Bubny–Zátory neighborhood through the theme of urbanism. Why do some places feel lively and welcoming while others don’t?
We’ll play games, design neighborhoods, and discover what makes cities thrive — from parks and schools to streets and public spaces.

13/12 — Designing a Park for Everyone
What makes a park truly belong to its neighborhood? Together, we’ll explore public space and community design in Bubny–Holešovice.
Participants will look at different user needs and co-design a park that balances nature, play, and accessibility — learning how planners work with local communities to create spaces for all.

✅ 15/10 — Mobility in the City (already took place)
We explored public transport infrastructure, played games building the Paris metro, and created our own mobility plan for Bubny–Zátory.
Thanks to everyone who joined us — swipe through to see moments from the workshop and CAMP’s exhibition on the future of Prague’s transport!

On March 8th, during our third workshop, the kids learned how to draw sections, a fundamental part of architectural drawing! ✍️

Sections are drawings that show what a building (or a park!) looks like if you sliced through it, helping architects and designers understand the layout and structure in detail. It’s a challenging concept to grasp, but the kids did an incredible job!

We started with simpler exercises to help them understand the basics, and gradually moved on to more complex tasks. By the end of the session, they applied their new skills to their final projects, drawing sections of their own park designs based on the plans they had created earlier. 🌳📐
It was amazing to see their hard work and creativity shine through!

Teaching civic engagement isn’t just about rules and politics—it’s about empowering the next generation to shape the world they’ll inherit. When teenagers learn to stand up for causes they believe in and actively improve their communities, they build the skills and confidence to create real change.

This is especially relevant in urban planning, architecture, and design, as these fields directly influence our daily lives—our streets, public spaces, and community connections. Integrating civic engagement with urban design empowers young people to actively shape their environments.

That’s why last Saturday, we collaborated with , a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering civic engagement among individuals with migration backgrounds, to host special workshops for our students. We explored how they can get involved, whether in their schools, through volunteering, or by using social media to amplify their voices.

It was an inspiring and educational session, huge thanks to Monica and Justyna for sharing their knowledge and energy! 🙌✨

Workshop 8: Mid-Term Presentation ✨

For the final class of this semester, our students pulled out all the stops to present their incredible ideas! 💡They showcased everything they’ve worked on so far—drawings, sketches, site analyses, inspirations, and their site plans. Each student created a presentation board and reflected on their journey, sharing unique insights about safety, inclusivity, and how to make public spaces more attractive for everyone. 🌟

But this wasn’t just about showing progress—it was also a lesson in itself! Learning to present confidently is a crucial skill for architects and planners, and we’re so proud to see them growing in both their projects and their public speaking abilities. 🗣️

We can’t wait to continue working together next year and watching their projects evolve! Until then, we wish everyone a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year! 🎄

A heartfelt thanks to Jaroslav Fragner Gallery for hosting us this semester. It’s been such an honor to work in such an inspiring and groundbreaking space! 💙

Workshop 7: Building the Big Picture! ✨

As the semester wraps up, our students put their knowledge of scale and site to work by creating a site model! 📐 This hands-on activity wasn’t just about developing new skills—it’s a key step in the design process, helping them dive deeper into the site’s surroundings, analyze its needs, and come up with thoughtful solutions. 💡

Plus, teamwork was the name of the game! Working together on the model, they learned how collaboration can turn individual ideas into something truly impactful. And yes, they sharpened their skills while doing it! 🔨

Workshop 6: Design Process & Concept Development

Before diving deeper into our students’ project, we took a step back to reflect on everything we’ve learned this semester—and why each step of the design process matters. 🛠️✨

We had an engaging discussion about the stages of the design process, encouraging students to connect their past topics to how they can use them in their projects. As we entered the third stage of the design process—Ideate—students got creative, finding inspiring examples of well-designed public spaces. They presented how these references could shape their own ideas, sparking conversations about blending inspiration with innovation! 🌟

📚 We were thrilled to introduce them to two fantastic reads: Meanwhile Cities and Cities for People. These books offer amazing insights into designing urban spaces that truly serve communities. If you haven’t checked them out yet, we highly recommend giving them a read!

This workshop was all about making connections, finding inspiration, and taking the next step in creating spaces that matter. Stay tuned to see how their projects evolve! 👀

At our UDesign workshop on Safety & Inclusion, kids engaged in hands-on activities aimed at fostering empathy, teamwork, and critical thinking. They explored real-life scenarios that highlighted the experiences and challenges of diverse groups—including individuals with disabilities or those from different cultural backgrounds—using the short stories graphical book “How to Design a Fair Shared City?” by The Heinrich Böll Foundation and Women Public Space Prague (WPS Prague). This inspiring resource, available online for free, comes highly recommended! (check if theyhave insta account and we could tag them)

Afterward, participants analyzed different streets and public spaces to find ways to make them more sustainable. They also studied how to incorporate these elements into site plans for the park they are designing as part of their project. In the process, they learned about scale and improved their technical drawing skills, adding a practical dimension to their creative solutions for safety and inclusion.

This workshop encouraged kids to see the world from new perspectives, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and collaborate meaningfully with their peers. By addressing real-world challenges, they gained a deeper understanding and felt empowered to drive positive change in their communities.

Workshop 4 - Tour with Roman from Pragulic

On Saturday, we went on a tour with Pragulic, an organization that employs and trains homeless people, giving them a chance to restart and provide them with a future. We were led by Roman, a well-known guide and one with a history of homelessness. He took us to one of the shelters near the main train station. Here he described in detail the role of the city and how it provides aid and shelter for those in need. As he led us to one of the homeless camps, he explained to us about his life and the struggles he had to go through. He showed us a camp under the bridge where he used to live, recounting moments such as friendly encounters with the police, and making Christmas decorations to make the camp more homely. The students did not hesitate to ask him questions, even topics that are considered taboo, Roman was eager to answer. The students also had a chance to draw the encampment, noting issues which might be useful for the main project. At the end he led us back to the station and we thanked him for his time.
