Charles University has a solution for you! Selected faculty libraries and study rooms are open on weekends.

📖 The study room of the Protestant Theological Faculty CU, the study room of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Jinonice, and the library of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University are open on weekends. In addition, you can also use the 24/7 study room at Centrum Krystal (Prague 6) if you need maximum flexibility.

👑 Interest in international degree programmes at Charles University continues to grow. For the academic year 2026/27, we received a total of 7,777 applications from prospective international students.

🎓 The strongest interest was in programmes offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences, followed by the First Faculty of Medicine, Second Faculty of Medicine, Third Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.

❤️ We are delighted to see that Charles University remains an attractive choice for students from around the world.

💪 For one day, we put our notes aside and Charles University was all about sport.

Last week, the traditional Rector’s Sports Day took place, giving students and staff the opportunity to do sport, meet outside lecture halls and enjoy an active day together.

💙 Thank you to everyone who came, took part, cheered or helped with the organisation.

🏳️‍🌈 17 May is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).

We have marked this day since 1990, when homosexuality was removed from the World Health Organization’s list of diseases. It is a day that reminds us how important respect, acceptance and equality are.

This year, UK POINT Univerzity Karlovy has joined as a Rainbow Place. Until the end of May, you can get a rainbow ribbon there as a symbol of support, solidarity and respect. 🌈

The atmosphere in society is not always welcoming. That makes it all the more important to show that respect, diversity and acceptance have their place. Join us. Because the world is better when we treat each other with respect. ❤️

🎉 Early May belongs to students – and Kampus Hybernská proved it once again.

🌸 On 8 May, the 14th edition of Studentský Majáles took place, a festival organised by students themselves. The campus turned into a vibrant space full of spring celebrations, student life and art, offering a diverse programme open to both the academic community and the wider public.

❤️ International students also joined in, with part of the programme held in English.
