🎃 Happy Halloween! 🎃

Tomorrow is Halloween, the spookiest festival of them all! The event originates in Celtic countries, specifically Ireland. The time is dedicated to remembering the dead, be it family members or saints and martyrs.

Today, Halloween is mostly about wearing funny costumes and, of course, trick-or-treating. 👻🍬🍭

In the Czech Republic, the festival has not caught on much. Rather, Czechs have their own version of festival in which to remember the deceased- Dušičky (All Soul’s Day), celebrated on the 2nd November.

Whatever you celebrate, happy holidays! 🎊🎃🎊

Today is an important day for the Czech Republic. On October 28, 1918, after the end of Austria-Hungary, a very first nation for the Czechs and Slovaks, also called the First Republic, emerged.

The First Republic lasted twenty years, until 1938. By then, as part of the Munich Agreement, the nation came under the ocupation of N**i Germany. This was the end of the First Czechoslovak Republic. The year 1918, however, is being celebrated until today. ✨
