A day at our Summer School in Uzbekistan 🇺🇿
The morning starts with breakfast before we grab a taxi to campus. (A ride in Samarkand costs around 7,000 Uzbek som—about 13 CZK.)
Classes are followed by team meetings, where we work on the projects we’ll present at the end of the programme. After that, it’s usually time to grab lunch together before everyone heads off to spend the afternoon their own way.
That’s probably one of the best parts of the Summer School. Once the academic programme is over for the day, you’re free to spend your time however you like. Some students explore Samarkand, some visit cafés or local attractions, others spend time with local students, and some just take it easy. No two afternoons look the same.
By the evening, everyone ends up back at the accommodation. That’s when we catch up, share what we did during the day, play Uno, listen to someone playing guitar, or just hang out together in the courtyard.
It’s a great balance between studying, exploring a new country, and having enough free time to enjoy the experience in your own way.
