If you’ve been learning Czech for a while but still feel stuck when it comes to actually speaking… this is your sign to join us 🤍
You don’t need to be 100% ready, have perfect grammar or know a lot of vocabulary to start communicating with Czechs.
The opposite. It’s better to start speaking during the process to gain confidence asap so that you don’t feel stressed when you need to speak.
Because confidence doesn’t come before speaking. It comes FROM speaking.
Imagine….
- Czech becoming your safe space.
- conversations starting to feel comfortable.
- finally using what you’ve learned and actually seeing your progress.
- stopping overthinking and just talking naturally.
That’s exactly what we’ll do.
✨ 8 weeks
✨ 8 classes
✨ 8 topics of your choice
Let me help you get there 🫶🏻
Start learning Czech effectively ~ start speaking it.

New Year’s Eve in the Czech Republic is all about family, food, and traditions. People usually start the day with a walk or a little hike, tidying up the house and taking out the trash - it’s a way of saying goodbye to the old year. The very last fairy tales are still on TV, while the kitchen fills with finger food: chlebíčky, jednohubky with all kinds of spreads, and of course pork for good luck in the New Year. The most important mission? Finishing the Christmas cookies. If not, moms and grandmas might get a bit upset.
Evenings are for cozy gatherings at home or in cottages, fireworks (though less popular these days), and sharing kisses and good wishes at midnight. Calls with family are also part of the tradition, keeping everyone connected no matter where they are🤍
What are you gonna do on New Year’s Eve?

Czech Christmas recap 🎄🇨🇿
My students often ask me what people in the Czech Republic actually do on each Christmas day, and I love comparing our traditions with those from their home countries. It’s always so interesting to see how different (and sometimes similar!) they are.
Of course, every Czech family celebrates a little differently - traditions can change depending on the region, family habits, or just personal preferences.
What about you? Do you have any traditional Christmas foods or activities you do every year? I’d love to hear how you celebrated it 🤍
Part 2 about New Year’s Eve (and especially superstitions) coming soon!

Tento týden jsem konečně poznala mýho kamaráda ! 🥳
🇬🇧 English below 🇬🇧
(text written in informal Czech)
Austin je sice z Texasu, ale mluví česky (a moc dobře!). A proč?
Czexanská čeština pochází hlavně z Moravy, odkud pocházím i já, takže občas používají nějaký slova z mýho dialektu😍
Moc doporučuju sledovat Austina a jeho content, protože upřímně toho ví o české kultuře a historii než většina Čechů a nás učitelů češtiny🤓
Čeština totiž není jenom o jazyku, ale i o kultuře a historii.
Austin často jezdí do Česka a dává content z moc zajímavejch míst. A zrovna teď tu je, tak mrkněte na jeho content z Prahy, Valašska a Slovenska! ✨

This week I finally met my friend ! 🥳
Austin is from Texas, but he speaks Czech (and really well!). And why? Because he’s a Czexan!
A lot of Czechs began to move to Texas after the revolutions of 1848 in the Austrian Empire which changed the political climate in Central Europe.
Czexans still keep Czech traditions alive - music, festivals, food, and some of them even speak Czech. So it’s actually possible to use your Czech in Texas if you ever go there! 🤠🇨🇿
“Czexan Czech” mostly comes from Moravia, which is also where I’m from, so sometimes they use words from my dialect😍
I really recommend following Austin and his content, because honestly he knows more about Czech culture and history than a lot of Czechs and even us Czech teachers🤓.
Because Czech isn’t just about the language - it’s also about culture and history.
Austin often travels to the Czech Republic and shares content from really cool places. And he’s here right now, so go check out his content from Prague, Valašsko and Slovakia! ✨
Also check out who organizes tours around Central Europe and picks the best places! This time for example Plzeň, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm a Košice 🤩

Světýlka (glowing lights), dřevěné stánky (wooden stalls), vůně perníčků (the smell of gingerbread), lidi se svařákem v ruce (people with mulled wine in their hands), vánoční koledy (Christmas carols) a šílená zima (and crazy freezing weather).. to jsou vánoční trhy! ✨Kdo se těší? Who’s excited?
In Brno the Christmas market started already last Friday, so I decided to make this post to help a bit with the vocab! :) Save it and use it when needed :)
PS. 4 days left to register for the A1 conversation course! Abandon the textbook for a bit and start speaking instead of grammar drill! (suitable even for fresh beginners)
