City #2: Prague, Czech Republic!!
Students got to spend their time exploring the city, it’s rich history, and it’s beautiful culture. This included some trying climbs for some exhilarating and astonishing views, endless delicious food, and visiting many a museum and memorial.

“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” ~George Santayana
To begin our journey, as per the title of our class, we first looked through a historical perspective at the events of the Holocaust.
•In Krakow, Poland we spent our first day walking around the city where remnants of that time period are still very visible— from the Jewish Quarter and Jewish Ghetto to the Płaszów Concentration Camp. Throughout these areas there were also memorials meant to remember the victims and to tell their stories.
•Our second day was spent visiting the memorial museums of the Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camps. This experience allowed students to better grasp the atrocities that were committed in these spaces; a heart wrenching but extremely meaningful experience.

For some of our students, these were their first international flights and for one their first flight ever!! One flight before we arrive at our first stop- Krakow, Poland- and our adventure really begins!
