🌍 Teach4Future in Southeast Turkey 🇹🇷✨

While much of Europe settled into the Christmas holidays, our team traveled to Kahramanmaraş and Şanlıurfa — two cities along the Turko‑Syrian border — to meet with local teachers and students. We were invited by a school and an adult training center to speak about well‑being, adapting to change, stress management, and building resilience. 💬🌱

These conversations felt different from our usual work in Europe. They challenged us to reflect deeply:

🤝 How do we balance Western well‑being practices with the traditions and rhythms of the local community?
📚 How can we support teachers working with classrooms that include both Turkish students and students displaced from Syria?
💔 How do we speak about trauma and loss in a region still healing from the devastating 7.8 earthquake of 2023?

What we found were some of the most resilient, warm, and determined people we’ve ever had the privilege to meet. Their strength, curiosity, and commitment to finding movement forward has definitely inspired us along the way. 🌟

We’re grateful for every conversation, every shared story, every delicious meal, and every glass of strong black tea. If they have learned half as much from us, as we have learned from them, then we shall consider this project successful. 💛

🌍✨ International Collaboration for Inclusive Education ✨🌍
Before Christmas, Teach4Future had the honor of hosting a week-long international mobility in Prague 🇨🇿 for teachers and school principals from special needs schools from the Czech Republic, Hungary 🇭🇺, and Turkey 🇹🇷.
During this inspiring week, we visited three different schools to explore diverse approaches to special needs education:
🏫 Two mainstream schools successfully integrating students with milder disabilities into regular classrooms, supported by teacher assistants.
🧠 One specialized school focused on students with intellectual disabilities, including an attached Speciálně pedagogické centrum, providing expert diagnostic and support services.
☕ We were also deeply inspired by a social café that actively employs people with special needs, showing how inclusive education connects directly to real, functional life.
💬 The rest of the week was dedicated to sharing experiences, inspiration, and examples of good practice — all centered on one common goal:
👉 Supporting students with special needs in learning, independence, and meaningful participation in everyday life.

This week marked the next exciting chapter of our international school cooperation 🇨🇿🇩🇰🇹🇷🇪🇸 — and this time, we met in our home town, the magical Prague ✨

Thanks to Greenpeace, Techmania Science Center, Planetarium Pilsen, Prague City Water Management Facilities, and Educanet Prague, we experienced a full week packed with inspiring activities, hands-on workshops, and exhibitions focused on sustainable living 🌍🌱 — from individual choices all the way to society-wide impact.

We even tried traditional Czech dancing with the country’s current second-best ranked dancer! 💃🕺

And of course, a trip to the Czech Republic in mid-December wouldn’t be complete without strolling through the historic streets of Prague and Pilsen, visiting the Christmas markets, meeting St. Nicholas and Krampus 🎄, and soaking up the unique festive atmosphere. ❤️

🎄 A short pre-Christmas side quest in Vienna 🇦🇹✨
This time I was training the teaching staff of a local high school – but not on risk behaviour prevention for once 👀❌.
The focus was on something that’s shaping today’s world and education system: artificial intelligence 🤖📚

Together, we explored what AI actually is, what’s behind its development and where it’s heading 🚀
We also discussed how the demands on teachers and schools are changing 🏫 – who is a “good teacher” today, and what will that look like in the future?
How does AI complicate teachers’ work ⚠️, and where does it, on the contrary, have the potential to strengthen and simplify it? 💡

We also looked at international inspiration 🌍 – how schools around the world are integrating AI into their teaching, strategies, administration, requirements and internal documentation 📄✅
Of course, there was also a practical part with specific AI tools that can be directly used in education 🧠💻

And since we were in Vienna at this time of year…
