Sculptures from renown artist Jaroslav Prosek made from 6500 years Old Subfossil oak will add to the beauty of the New Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi.

There’s an architectural wonder being built just outside of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), but no, it’s not another building or a race car arena nor is it something that is being constructed to attract tourists. It’s in fact the BAPS Hindu Temple, which when inaugurated, will attract millions of devotees to the desert nation. This will be the first stone Hindu temple in the region and will be the largest in West Asia. It is designed pink sandstone and marble façade with seven spires that represent each of the Emirates of the country. The BAPS Hindu Temple is a true architectural marvel that transcends borders and celebrates unity, spirituality, and community in the heart of the UAE

The main entrance part of the temple is housing Sculptures from Czech sculptor Jaroslav Prosek. Jaroslav is using 6500 years old subfossil oak tree trunks. He shapes them into amazing sculptures. As many say”He gives the tree trunks a new life. The trees were waiting under ground for thousands of years and now they are ready to tell ther story to the visitors of the mandir.

Prosek´s unique sculptures are very popular.
For example, Museum of Modern Art Mambo Bogota recently acquired his tree sculpture for their permanent collection. This is a great honour for the artist. Now seven of his trees will be exhibited as permanent public instalation in the BAPS Hindu mandir Abu Dhabi. It is extremely prestigious project, because it is the second biggest Hindu mandir outside of India and it will be opened by the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and also by Prime Minister of India.

STILL ONBOARD. Deep oceans, huge seas, power of the water, that was one of my first inspirations. Glass melting was the right way, how can I catch it up. The big part of my work was made for Yachts and was inspired by Sea Life. I am very proud I can say: I’m still onboard.
