Long time we did not repeat the muscles, so let's start with easy one! 🎬 The triceps brachii is a large, thick muscle of the upper arm. The main function of the triceps is the extension of the elbow joint. It's an antagonist of the biceps brachii. 💪 The triceps tendon is used in triceps reflex testing. 🔨

As it is a phasic muscle, we often strengthen it in physiotherapy. It can be worked out in isolation or with compound movements with extension at the elbow. 🥏 It can also be statically contracted to keep the arm straight against resistance.

Lewit discovered techniques of manual medicine through a combination of clinical observation, hands-on experience and anatomical understanding. 🦴 With a focus on releasing tension and improving circulation, these methods aim to restore movement and reduce pain. 💪 Physiotherapists use soft tissue techniques to relax skin, subcutaneous tissue, fascia, muscles and mobilization to release joint capsules, ligaments, tendons, cartilage. These teqniques include post-isometric relaxation, joint play, stretching, positional relaxation. 🦵 Lewit's approach emphasizes simplicity and efficacy. ✨

Professor Lewit was a neurologist, founder of functional diagnostics and manual and reflex therapy in Czechoslovakia. 🇨🇿 His Jewish origins led him to spend World War II abroad, where he worked as a medic, but also participated in combat, and therefore received the Golden Cross of Czechoslovakia. ⚕️ Lewit's background in neurology provided a strong foundation for his exploration of manual medicine. His understanding of the nervous system and its connection to the musculoskeletal system proved developing his diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. 👨‍⚕️ He was also a founding member of the Prague school of rehabilitation, a notable school of thought in this field. His work has had a significant international impact, with his textbook "Manipulative Therapy in Rehabilitation of the Locomotor System" being translated into multiple languages. 📕

Easter in the Czech Republic is associated with Christian tradition. ✝️ Two days, in particular Good Friday and Easter Monday, are even public holidays. ⛪ The most interesting thing is Monday's typically Czech tradition where boys get willow branches, braid them together into whips and decorate them with ribbons to whip girls with for luck and fertility. 🎀 It probably sounds bizarre, but it is common in the Czech Republic, although in recent years there has been a wave of protest against this tradition.

Have a wonderful Easter holiday! 🐣🌼

Dear students, today's motivational quote is to remind us that physiotherapy has no "finish line", but throughout our lives we always learn something new, we always discover, education does not end with a university degree... there will always be opportunities to move on and improve. May your journey be as satisfying and interesting as possible, may you enjoy it and be glad you have already begun your journey. 💚💚💚

You have already known who professor Vojta was and today we'll talk more about his method. 📖 Vojta therapy is physiotherapeutic treatment based on the developmental kinesiology and principles of reflex locomotion. 🤔 Reflex locomotion is an ability to perform an involuntary movement as a response to external stimuli. 💪 The method uses reflex patterns typical of early childhood. 👶 Two basic patterns are used in the therapy: reflex rolling and reflex creeping. For Vojta therapy to be successful, it must be performed several times a day (up to four times). ❤️‍🩹
