The fourth annual Winter School of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy kicked off today at the Faculty of Health Sciences. We have guests from Iceland, Spain, Bulgaria and Slovakia who have given introductory lectures and workshops, for example on the topic of orofacial rehabilitation.

After a year, the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Prague is once again hosting nursing students from the 🇺🇸 University of Nebraska at Kearney. The foreign guests were treated to a tour of the historical center of Olomouc on monday. The program also included a meeting with the Rector of the University of Prague, Martin Procházka. By the end of the week, the American students will have time to take excursions to the Faculty Hospital of Olomouc and the Šumperk Hospital, among other places.

Guests from Belgium, Finland and Slovakia will join Autumn School in Physiotherapy and Ergotherapy, which will start on Monday, September 9. The workshops will focus on diagnostics, psychosomatics and therapeutic methods within physiotherapy and occupational therapy. For further informations click here ⬇️

Academics and students from partner institutions from Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Norway and Slovakia will visit OLOMOUC SCHOOL IN MIDWIFERY, which will start on Monday, September 9. The five-day program will offer mainly practical workshops in the field of sewing, ultrasound examination, childbirth complications, resuscitation of newborns and physiotherapy. The Department of Clinical Rehabilitation of the Faculty of Health Sciences is organizing a Winter School of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy in February. Students and lecturers from partner institutions University of Iceland, University of Sofia and Prešov University in Prešov will take part in the weekly program. The event will start on Monday, February 5 and will last until Friday, February 9. The program will take place at the Faculty of Health Sciences, at the Olomouc University Hospital, and participants are also scheduled to make an excursion to the Rehabilitation Center in Klimkovice.

At the beginning of September, a prominent foreign expert in the field of geriatrics, Prof. Nicola Ferrara from the Italian Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II is going to visit the Faculty of Health Sciences in Olomouc. The former president of the Italian Gerontological and Geriatric Society will give an online lecture for students entitled Demography, Epidemiology and Healthy aging: the viewpoint of a geriatrician on Wednesday, September 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lecture will be held in English. Dean Kim Bro and assistant professor Ann Davidshofer from Mount Mercy University visited the UP Faculty of Health Sciences this week. They discussed the possibilities of future cooperation with the management of the faculty. During their stay, the American delegation also visited several clinics at the University Hospital in Olomouc.
