Scientists from the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research group and CEPLANT recently completed the installation of the DCSBD plasma device at the Fraunhofer Institute in Potsdam, Germany. The decision to reinstall the device was based on the positive outcomes from their earlier research.

This collaboration is part of the R2R Net Consortium and was supported by Roplass, a spin-off from Masaryk University. The process was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dušan Kováčik, PhD., and Stefan Kröpke, with the installation handled by researchers Dr. Jakub Kelar and Roman Přibyl.

We look forward to seeing the results of this partnership and wish them success in their work.

R2R Net - stake holder meeting in Brno hosted by Roplass Ltd. in cooperation with CEPLANT centre and Masarykova univerzita.

The meeting took a hybrid form, some stakeholders came to Masaryk University and met with scientists in person, some of which took part online.

This event aimed to bring together key stakeholders, experts, and industry partners from the roll-to-roll (R2R) business sector, providing an invaluable platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative discussion.

We are pleased to announce that CEPLANT at Masarykova univerzita, in partnership with Roplass s.r.o. (Robust Plasma Systems), will host the upcoming R2R Net stakeholder meeting in Brno on October 16th.

This event aims to bring together key stakeholders, experts, and industry partners from the roll-to-roll (R2R) business sector, providing an invaluable platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative discussion.

HAKONE XVIII (18th International Symposium on High Pressure Low Temperature Plasma Chemistry) focuses on the fundamentals and applications of non-thermal plasmas and their chemistry at elevated pressures.

This year, it was held in ​Abano Terme, Padova, Italy, between 1-6 September 2024. Assoc. Prof. Zdeněk Navrátil, Dr. Zdeněk Bonaventura, Dr. Richard Krumpolec, Dr. Michal Pazderka a Lucia Švandová from Plasma Diagnostics and Modelling and Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research groups and CEPLANT presented their respective research in oral presentations.

The 26th ESCAMPIG conference on the physics of ionized gases organized by the Ústav fyziky a technologií plazmatu PřF MU, CEPLANT center, and the Jednota českých matematiků a fyziků was successfully held at the VUT Brno in Božetěchova in Brno.

191 participants from 26 countries from all over the world attended the conference.

Dr. Ganesh Nayak from Aachen, Germany, and Assoc. Prof. David Holec from Leoben, Austria, visited the research group Deposition of Thin Films and Nanostructures. Together with the PVDLab computational team, they worked on two projects.

The new collaboration with Şişecam Cam Ambalaj was established by dr. Richard Krumpolec of the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications Research Group of the Ústav fyziky a technologií plazmatu PřF MU and the Ceplant Center.

Şişecam is the only global company active in all major areas of glass production - including flat glass, glass products, glass packaging and glass fibre.

Dr. Krumpolec met scientists from Şişecam Flat Glassse at last year's Glass Performance Days (GPD2023) conference in Finland.

Together with assoc. prof. Dusan Kováčik and Jianyu Feng, they went to the Turkish Şişecam Science, Technology and Design Center to test the potential of plasma coating of glass for the strength behavior of the adhesively connected glass-polymer interface.

The opportunity to represent CEPLANT and her research at the 8th International Conference on Electrospinning (Electrospin2024) in Krakow had Leila Zahedi.

A presentation entitled "Optimizing Electrospun Nanofibers for Enhanced Tissue Engineering Performance Assisted by Low-Temperature Atmospheric-Pressure Plasma Technology," presented the potential of plasma to the electrospun nanofiber community and it was well-received.
