💛 22 years in language teaching, and I’m still in love with this work.

I started my freelancing journey in 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟰 and have loved every single minute of it. Because I created it all by me and for me.

💛 WHAT DO I DO?

I help 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘇𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 speak English with confidence, and I also mentor 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 to build their own businesses.

✨ I also offer one-on-one consulting and regularly collaborate with teachers and partners on new programmes and projects.

✨ I’ve run 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀, without coursebooks and school desks in the past 16 years and I now enjoy presenting about my results at conferences and mentoring teachers using my holistic approach to teaching and teacherpreneuring.

🔥 𝗠𝗬 𝗕𝗜𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 ?
Seeing women fall in love with English / build thriving businesses with time for themselves.

💛 In 2016, a student from my beginner course gave me this glass.

🥛 She was learning English with me, and at the same time learning glassmaking. So she made these glasses for all of us. On the glass there is a girl and a speech bubble. It says: "My English is great!"

💬 That sentence was something I kept asking the women in my experiential courses (2010-22) to say out loud, especially at the beginning. Again and again. Even when they did not believe it yet.

🧠 I knew how much they focused on what was missing. More grammar. More words. More confidence. Fewer mistakes. I wanted them to see what was already there, because in that moment, their English was the best it could be. And that was enough to start from.

🌱 I have always believed that you sometimes have to say something before it feels true. I have done that in my own life many times. And I see so many of my clients successfully create their lives this way.

🥇 Last Friday, I received this medal.

✨ It says: "Your English is great."

🤍 It came from an event created by one of my teacher mentees who I've been working with for three years. I no longer run my experiential courses myself, but I teach other teachers how to create them. Many of them now run fun courses like I used to, cooking, wine tasting, doing crafts together, being together and speaking English without coursebooks, school desks, or pressure.

⛸️ On Friday, organised an evening called English on Ice. We had the whole ice rink to ourselves, skated and played games, ate lots of food, sushi catering and local yummies, drank fantastic wine from one of the students who is a winemaker, and sat together in the VIP area because another student runs the place. And at the end, she gave her students these medals.

💛 When she handed me one, I had tears in my eyes. It was a complete surprise.

🌍 This is why I mentor teachers now. Not because I miss running courses. But seeing the work live on, changed and grown through someone else, feels bigger than anything I could do alone.

🕊️ Some ideas really do not belong to one person. They travel. And sometimes, years later, they come back to you in your hands. 🙏

I almost gave up on English.
I almost gave up on teaching.

I didn’t do it all alone. Several teachers and mentors in my life kept me going at the times I thought I couldn’t.

And now that I teach and mentor others, the most meaningful thing for me is when someone tells me: “Because of you, I didn’t give up.”

✨ 2025 was a big year for me. I left ELT behind.

At the beginning of the year I realised I no longer wanted to work only with English teachers. I wanted to support all language teachers.

Because in the end, it doesn’t really matter which language you teach. The challenges of running a teaching business are very similar. Pricing, confidence, boundaries, visibility... the principles of languagepreneuring stay the same.

So I started using the term LANGUAGEPRENEURING. I opened my teachers’ club to independent female teachers of all languages, and I fully jumped into international coaching. This year I worked with teachers of Czech, German, French, Hebrew, Spanish, and more.

I also created a new project, audio series from my 21 years in ELT freelancing, opened the Female Languagepreneurs Support Group which today has over 70 teachers from 26 countries. They teach many different languages, including Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, and others. Watching this community grow has been one of the highlights of my year.

I honestly can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.

𝟭. 𝗜 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆
Feelings are part of life and work. I help women understand them and move forward instead of getting stuck in them.

𝟮. 𝗜 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
Language is not only grammar and words. It’s how you connect, express yourself and feel strong in who you are.

💛 This weekend I am part of the "Virtual ELT Conference" for online TEFLpreneurs, and I am talking about one topic that is very close to my heart, running a successful ELT business.

🎙️ My session is a pre-recorded 45-min interview that I did with Shannon Felt from TEFL Horizons . She had some great questions!

I suppose I am not the only one who’s ever said, “If women ruled the world…”

As I build communities for women who learn and teach English, and work in purely women’s teams, I see how much we are capable of. How incredibly creative, innovative and powerful we are, especially when we get together.

Throughout the years I’ve learned that, in the end, most women, unlike most men, will always choose cooperation over competition, and look for solutions that are fair for everyone involved.

Because we know too well what unfair play feels like. Whether it’s the pay gap, unpaid housework, or being overlooked at work, in politics, in boardrooms, we’ve been there.

And on Thursday in Prague I saw the opposite of that.

The Inspire Impact Network is the living example of what happens when women lead with authenticity and kindness. Hats off to the founder, Renata Mrazova, and to all the women who started and continue this new journey for us here in the Czech Republic! 🙏✨

You’ve built a space that makes me believe we really can change the world. It doesn’t happen overnight, it grows from the ground up. And this network, full of hardworking, smart, brave, curious and generous women, gives me hope.
